Greet your expert guide at a central Zurich location and climb aboard an air-conditioned coach for a panoramic tour of Zurich, a city considered Switzerland’s cultural capital. Admire the rich architectural array and hear tales of Zurich’s prosperous past before travelling to Rapperswil, a charming medieval town known as the ‘City of Roses’.

On arrival, marvel at the towering turrets of the medieval castle and then enjoy some leisurely free time to explore independently. Return to your vehicle and capture panoramic photographs of the Alps as you cross the Ricken Pass and arrive in Toggenberg, a gorgeous region replete with swooping valleys and beautiful mountain scenery.

Next, cross the border to Vaduz, capital of the minute Principality of Liechtenstein, and spend more leisurely free time discovering the charm of the city. Visit the Post Office to catch a glimpse of its highly prized stamps and then return to the coach for the short journey to Maienfield, the stunning setting of the Heidi stories.

Take a pleasant stroll to a collection of mountain houses and absorb incredible views of the surrounding mountains. Opt to visit the Heidi House at your own expense and then gaze at the picturesque banks of Lake Walen as you travel back to Zurich by coach.

Please note: In wintertime, visit the quaint village of Werdenberg instead of Heidi-Village.

For the Heidi-book lovers for sure!

This was a highlight for me as I've read Heidi many times since I was young and so to be able to experience the village was very exciting for me. I love how they did up the houses so you can fully experience it, and the area was very scenic. The bonus was Rapperswil for a quick lunch, unfortunately the roses were not in bloom yet, should be really lovely in summer. And also Liechtenstein, where we had some time to roam about the small town of Vaduz. It really is very small so didn't require much time.

The tour overall was rather boring. A lot of free time in some places we knew nothing about. They also said that we would be dropped off where we were picked up, but they let us off a long way away and we had to gps our way back to the tram line we come in on.

This tour was fun. Ana the tour guide was delightful and very professional. My recommendation would be to skip the stops in Zurich and head straight to Heidiland and Liechtenstein. This would allow for adding more activities and sightseeing in Liechtenstein.

Thank you for letting us know your personal experience on the Heidiland Tour. You are right this tour has so many things to offer that it could easily be doubled in the duration, but we tried to make it a well balanced tour with visits to cities and the beautiful countryside Switzerland has to offer.

Short stop at Liechstenstein, would have appreciated headsup it was bilingual tour

Appreciate the driver and guide who set off on time and thought of alternative drive routes to avoid roads that may have traffic jams. While the tour title indicates a visit to Heidiland, I'm wondering if this is an area of interest for the target audience as most seemed disinterested. Liechtenstein was the greater draw but we only had 50 mins to explore. So from a tour design perspective, perhaps a longer time at Liechtestein, with a visit to the castle, would make the tour more attractive. The tour was delivered in Spanish and English and it would have been nice to be informed of this beforehand. The guide's thick accent made understanding him quite challenging. His command of the language was also not of the quality I would expect of a Viator tour.

Thank you for taking the time to let us have your impression about the Heidiland Tour. You are absolutely right the vacation region ‘Heidiland’ stretches from Lake Walen to the gates of Chur. We visit the region as well as the Heidi-Village where the authentic Heidi-House (museum) is situated. This tour offers scenic routes through the countryside as well as visits to cities. Vaduz in the principality of Liechtenstein is a popular destination and worth visiting. The castle in Vaduz is the private residence of the present prince and his family and only invited guests of the royal family are welcomed. Our guides are encouraged to speak plain English as we often have guests from all over the world on our tours and their native language is not necessarily English.
