York Carriage Awaits - Socially Distanced Tours of York

I proposed to my partner during this tour, and John was very much part of the planning, he was only too happy to help make the moment just right and picked a lovely spot for the deed to be done! John's delivery of the history of York was superb, bringing to life the scene and making the whole experience magical from start to finish.

John was a great guide and looked after our elderly parents very well indeed. They came back raving about it so couldn’t recommend it more.

Had a brilliant experience with a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. Being driven in a bike-propelled carriage we had an advantage of both covering an extensive area of the city and being able to go to places not accessible by car/coach. Our guide gave us a very good overview of the city history without overloading with dates and unnecessary details and had a few anecdotes to tell. The whole excursion felt like it was tailor made for us and our guide was generous with his time rather than rushing it through. Overall, very pleasant and relaxed experience - highly recommend for those new to the city.

We took an hour tour early evening. Such an informative excursion. Well enjoyed. Could probably have been dressed in warmer clothes with hat, gloves & scarf but the fluffy blanket supplied helped us snuggle. Certainly recommend. Thank you.

John’s tour was everything we hoped it would be. Informative, pleasant, fun, and interesting. His passion was obvious from the first minute. He tells you facts on facts on facts. It was a rather cold night, but he brought a blanket, which helped a lot. I would recommend this to anyone in York—tourists and locals alike.
