Brilliant tour

Brilliant tour. We firstly booked it for another day but it was thunderstorm and rained non stop. Our guide was very kind and rearranged our tour for next day. This was great as we really enjoyed it. He is so knowledgeable and had us all engaged. I found so many interesting things about York! Would highly recommend it

I absolutely recommend this tour. Sarah was engaging and knowledgeable. Even with the heavy downpour happening during the tour, Sarah helped to make the most of it under umbrellas and small sheltered corners. Great for a first time visit to York.

Thanks so much, Hanni, it was lovely to meet you all. York still looks beautiful in the rain!

Alfred was a great guide and clearly had an amazing level of knowledge on the history of York, but also more broadly on the subject! Small group format was nice and enabled us and Alfred to engage and interact throughout. Wound highly recommended

Thanks for that Stuart - yes, we do keep groups sizes small precisely for that reason, not least because we enjoy it more being able to have a conversation too! Very best Alfred

Really enjoyed the tour. Very informative - the tour is focussed around the Abbey/Minster area. I have visited York many times but hadn’t seen a lot of what was pointed out on the tour before. Would recommend.

Thanks very much for the kind response - always pleased to hear we can look at the city afresh even for those who know York already

The way Alfred’s stories linked and carrying through themes. Excellent and engaging storytelling, we loved it!

While I'd hesitate to claim York is the greatest story on earth, it's certainly well up there... Many thanks for the kind response Alfred

An absolutely fantastic way to spend an afternoon in York. The guide was very informative, and I learnt a great deal about how York was formed over the years. All the major sites are included in the walk, and nothing is missed out. Would highly recommend.

Great Tour, Best way to discover York

Lovely tour with a very small group. Our guide Sarah was lovely and very informative. York is an amazing city with so much history and walking around with this lovely lady was a very good way to see things we may not have found on our own. Thoroughly recommend this tour.
icon Response from Host , Jul 2021
Thanks Angela - we always keep the group sizes small (never more than 8) so that everything is relaxed and more enjoyable all round - so really pleased you commented on that. Very best Sarah

Hugely informative and fun

Alfred was knowledgeable and fun - he took the time to make the history relevant to today. I added to my vocabulary too with the exploration of the ‘snickleways’. We had a great walking tour and would highly recommend this tour.

Thanks Fiona - much appreciated. Of course they're only Snickelways round here. Down south they're Twiterns. On Merseyside they're Jiggers. The mind boggles. Alfred
