Delicious food with Putu

There are already many good reviews about the cooking class with Putu and her family and I can confirm them. We are a couple of two and everything was perfectly organized (transportation, pre-chopping of the vegetables etc) so that we only had to do the "exciting" part of the cooking (some chopping, frying, mixing..). We created 5 meals and ate them together with the host, which was nice. The food was so good! In the end Putu sent us the recipes to cook the meals at home, too. Thank you so much! Recommandation!

Putu and her husband picked us up from our hotel and brought us to their home. They taught us about their culture and the food we would be cooking. We made 5 traditional dishes with the help of Putu who was a great teacher and pleasure to cook with. We learned about our ingredients and made everything the traditional way. We then sat and ate our meal with Putu. The food was delicious and plentiful! Putu is very clean and her teaching methods are organized. Her family is very kind. This is a must do experience in Bali! Putu and her husband even got my husband and I a cake to celebrate our honeymoon. Good people and great food.

This cooking class was the highlight of my trip to Bali. The food we cooked was delicious. Putu taught the class. She's friendly, welcoming and gave good instructions. I liked that Putu didn't just teach us how to cook the meals but she also showed us her garden, her home, and taught us about Balinese customs.

I wish I could give this 10 stars. It is simply a must-do. If you like your journey to have authenticity, look no further. There is nothing more authentic than being lovingly accepted into a family's home to share in preparing and eating a meal. This family is lovely, their why is beautiful. Do not pass this opportunity by.

This is a wonderful and private class and the best food I’ve eaten so far in Bali due to Putu’s home made cooking. Putu is very welcoming into her home and explained what a traditional Bali house is like. Most of the ingredients were grown by her and we made 6 dishes. All the food was delicious and we made so much that I was given leftovers to take back. I thoroughly recommend this class as it is small and intimate. Just make sure you eat a light breakfast!

We were invited into a typical family complex where initially the host, Putu, showed and explained the purpose of the different buildings. She gave ample explanations about their lifestyle including the making of offerings to ancestors, whose ashes remain in a special location in the complex. Then she and her sis-in-law taught us how to make 6 typical dishes using an old style wooden stove and a modern gas one. They kept us busy and entertained. Then we sat to eat the lovely meal product of our labour. They were hospitable and accommodating. Putu is an intelligent lady with very good English skills.
Only beware how you book! Make sure you know what currency is being used. By using the American viator we paid a fortune, Should have booked through TripAdvisor.com.au!!! as we live in Australia.

This has been the most beautiful experience of our trip ! It has been the most genuine because you enter in a real traditional balinese house, prepare the typical meal with Putu's family and then eat it with them ! Putu is very kind, gentle, clear and lovely ! She lets you cook while explaining the origins of the plates ! And she speaks English very well ! Wonderful experience ! We recommend it 400% !
