The best day trip, so much in one day!

Best day ever. Three of my friends and I (all late 20-somethings) did this tour together. Honestly, if you want to experience so many great parts of the Yucatan in one day, I recommend this tour! I'm completely confused by the negative reviews, but we all loved this day. We left from Tulum, the pick-up was at the Super Aki market. We paid in cash USD for the entrance fee, however, you were able to pay in card for a fee. The bus was a huge, air-conditioned coach bus that had a bathroom and outlets. We brought our own snacks and water, so we felt pretty comfortable. The first part of the ride (1.5 hours) went by so fast because our tour guide kept us engaged and provided us with Mayan history. We were able to get 30 minutes of nap time before our first stop. We stopped at a shopping area that helped funded schools in the area. I can agree with the other reviews, they were definitely trying to sell you on their obsidian and items, but honestly, it wasn't really that bad. You have the option to go shop inside or go sit outside and take pictures. We were able to get blessed by a Shaman, which was a great experience. There, we ate in a covered outdoor area and had a Mayan-inspired buffet. The chicken was unreal, we all went back for seconds. Afterwards, we went to Chichen Itza and got our own small group and personal guide. LOVED Chichen Itza. Don't listen to the negative comments. It's what you make of it. Our group was small and we all were the same age and our tour guide Ronald (I apologize if I got your name wrong!) was hilarious, sweet, and informative. I can't imagine going there without a guide. We were able to just walk in without waiting in line and went straight to the ruins. We really lucked out. The tour gave us bottled water before we entered. 1.5 hours is PLENTY, seriously. Due to COVID-19, capacity is minimized, therefore it truly felt like there weren't that many people there. We have photos of the main ruin with no one in the background. I will say - it's hot. But, the Yucatan is.. HOT. Be prepared, use an umbrella, WEAR A HAT, don't wear black shoes. It wasn't as terrible because the wind was blowing and there were little areas and trees to run to the shade for a few minutes. After Chichen Itza, we went to the cenote, which is located in this gorgeous resort. We did pay an unexpected $3 for mandatory life jacket rentals, but not a big deal. The cenote was so worth it and I actually would prefer to have something to float on instead of treading water. It was huge, beautiful, something out of a movie, and there's a diving platform! Everyone was so nice there and our tour bus were the last ones there, so we had the cenote to ourselves. Afterwards, we were able to get changed and they gave us these sweet alcoholic shots (you had to pay for the bottle if you wanted it) but it was nice to get a sample. We then stopped in the town of Valladolid for 25 minutes. The best ending to the trip. Such a gorgeous town that had food vendors and restaurants everywhere. We were all starving by that time, so we were running around grabbing elotes, churros, and other items before heading onto the bus. We all could definitely spend an afternoon in Valladolid, so I would definitely go back! Once on the bus, they poured Tecate beers for us and it became a nice social hour before we all ended up taking a nap before getting dropped back off at the Super Aki supermarket. Basically, all I can say is that this experience was worth it. If you're doing a quick weekend trip or just want a day to experience so much, highly recommend! Thank you all for such great memories.

Great experience and price!

Best price we found and included everything we needed! However the schedule was different than listed. We saw Chichen Itza prior to the cenote. In the schedule, it said the cenote was first therefore we wore our bathing suits which was slightly uncomfortable. Other than that, I would highly recommend this excusion!

Chichen Itza, cenote, and Valladolid were all awesome! The first couple hours of the tour though we stopped at some “Mayan Village” which was more like a rest stop/tourist trap with VERY overpriced junky stuff that they were heavily pressuring us into buying.

Thank you for the feedback, we have vendors all around the touristic spots and we always recommend doing smart shopping and not buy if you really consider quality & price are not accurate.

We loved our day trip to Chichen Itza! Our tour guides, Jesus, Alfredo, and driver Herman were wonderful. Knowledgeable and entertaining! I also loved the cenote, it was gorgeous and not too busy. And our visit to Valladolid was a fun surprise. We would definitely come back to explore the city more, now that we know!

This is the best Chichen Itza tour that you can find. I was with Alfredo's group with Mundo and Roman in assistance and he was just fantastic. Alfredo is amazingly knowledgeable in the history and culture of Mayan's. He was very polite and courteous. If I visit the region again, I will make sure that I book another tour with him through Viator. On a separate note, we had a heavily medicated person in our group, he was out most of the time but trying to keep up with the group whenever he could. Alfredo and Mundo were amazingly polite with this individual, they adapted the timeline to his needs without making us late back to our hotels; they deserve a medal for their patience. Ray
