John O'Groats Harbour , Unnamed Road, John o' Groats, Wick KW1 4YR, UK

Name of the boat is the MV Pentland Venture.

This activity will end right where it started.
At John O’Groats Harbour, climb aboard your boat and find a comfortable spot on the spacious deck or in the comfortable saloon area. Set sail on the Pentland Firth and—depending on the weather—take one of two possible routes.

Marvel at an abundance of seabirds at either the colossal cliffs near Duncansby Head, or the uninhabited island of Storma. As you explore the rugged scenery by boat, you’ll see puffins, guillemots, razorbills, and arctic skuas, among other native bird species.

With luck, you’ll catch a glimpse of Atlantic Grey Seal colonies from an excellent vantage point on deck. Listen to informative commentary from your guide throughout the cruise and enrich your knowledge of Scotland’s natural history.

Bid your guide farewell and disembark at the marina at the end of your cruise.

Great trip. Would recommend.

Amazing trip, lasted a good amount of time. Plenty of space on board, inside and out. Interesting information given throughout about everything we were seeing. Had a wonderful time.
Crowded trip, limited wildlife but enjoyable
, Sep 2021
Enjoyed the experience once we moved to the open air lower deck - there was so many people on the upper deck it was hard to see anything being pointed out and social distancing impossible. Limited wildlife to see due to time of year accepted but good to see what there was and just get to sea for the trip. Used to smaller trips/boats so found this one very impersonal. However did enjoy it overall as love being at sea so thank you
Excellent service. Took care of a disabled passenger with great care.

It didn’t rain!!! Good views. The commentary from the skipper was not intrusive in any way. To the point explanations of various sights/sites of interest.
Well worth going

The cruise was well managed and very interesting. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it. Good value for money. We saw birds and seals. The history of Stroma island was informative.

Unfortunately sat on right side of the boat we were not able to see much. With a 5 year old it wasn’t possible to move around.

Absolutely fantastic! The crew were great, very knowledgeable. We were lucky to have seen porpoises, dolphins, seals and many birds. A view of the Isle of Stroma. At the end of the trip we spotted dolphins on the way back. The captain didn’t need to because we were at the end but he turned around to give us a look. Highly recommended. Well worth the money and about the only decent thing to do in John O’Groats besides the Stacks!
