Meet your knowledgeable local guide in the Normalmstorg district to begin your private 3-hour walking tour of Stockholm. Be sure to let your guide know if you have any particular interests or destinations in mind, as this private tour can be customized to accommodate your preferences.

Learn about how Normalmstorg became associated with the term 'Stockholm Syndrome' after a robbery and hostage situation here in the early 1970s. Continue your walk past the Parliament building, the Royal Swedish Opera House and the Royal Dramatic Theatre. At Kungliga Slottet (the Royal Palace) and City Hall, stop for photos of the city's symbol, the 'tre kronor', or three crowns.

Learn about the medieval past of Gamla Stan, Stockholm's Old Town, and the history of the Viking people, the Rus'. Walk to Stockholm Cathedral to see the exterior statue of St George and the Dragon, and dive into the interesting Riddarholmen, Södermalm and Slussen districts to discover more about the city’s medieval and recent past. Admire the North German-style townhouses in Stortorget, the city's oldest town square.

Stop for a traditional 'fika', or coffee and a sweet snack (own expense) and take the opportunity to ask your guide any remaining questions you have about Stockholm's long and storied history.

You'll end your tour near Slussen after 3 hours, where you will be free to explore on your own.

Excellent guided tour to many...
Steen Erik J
, Aug 2013
Excellent guided tour to many historical places, specially interesting for us as Danes. The only unpleasant thing was that the tour ended miles away from the starting point, and we had a long and tiring walk back.
