Return Details

Kindstugatan, Stockholm, Sweden

The tour ends at Kindstuegatan 1.

Seek out your guide at Õstermalms Saluhall, the oldest food market in Stockholm, where many businesses have been passed down through multiple family generations. Admire the intricate carvings on the interior wooden walls and eaves, which have been well-preserved for centuries.

Munch on some modern Swedish meatballs, slightly changed and much healthier than their traditional counterpart, but just as tasty. Then continue your tour with a stroll through Stureplan, an area that most tourists skip. At Kungsgatan, check out K25, an urban food court packed with Stockholm's hip young residents. Try some of the local seafood and sip a glass of white wine while you do some interesting people-watching.

Take the chill off with a visit to Chokoladfabriken for their legendary hot chocolate, made with 65% cocoa and cardamom. Then pause at Hõtorgshallen to peruse the market stalls filled with Swedish delicacies and fresh produce. At the P&B Delikatesser, taste a dizzying array of homemade products like truffles, traditional Swedish licorice and cloudberry jam.

Hit up Husmans Deli for some artisan cheese, then visit Fagel & Vilt for cured meats like smoked reindeer and elk salami. Wash it down with some Norrlands Guld beer and chase it with some fresh fruit from Lisbeth Janson Frukt & Grunt.

Walk the cobblestone streets of Gamla Stan, Stockholm's Old Town, and pause at a candy store before heading to your last tasting: a traditional Swedish fika. The nation's favorite mid-afternoon or evening break consists of a kanelbullar and a strong coffee.

With a full stomach and lots of ideas about where you'll want to eat on the rest of your Swedish holiday, you'll bid farewell to your guide after this 4-hour tour.

Perfect food tour!

We had a great time on our tour. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We tried lots of different kinds of food, things I would not have known about otherwise. If you only do one tour in Stockholm, pick this one for sure!!

Our guide Theresa was fantastic - she was very knowledgeable and made us feel at ease very quickly. There was a great selection of local food at different locations and good pace of walking across the city. Highlight was the herrings and the cardamom truffle. Not so keen on the smoked liquorice but at least I can say I tried it. Highly recommended

Fun, tasty tour!

The tour guide was great, very friendly and gave some interesting information about the city. The food itself was tasty - particularly the seafood - but there wasn’t much of it. This isn’t really a meal replacement. It’s also a bit heavily focused on the sweets and less so savory, which isn’t ideal for me but some people may like this best. Overall, a very good experience and one I’d recommend.

Very nice Tour Guide but VERY VERY VERRY OVERPRICED. Not worth 200+ dollars. The tour guide could not even pronounce landmarks or certain foods. Thank god my Swedish boyfriend was there to help out translate some things. They should have more food options especially for ppl who may want to try new foods. Lastly, Should charge maybe 30-50$ per person if so. Tack.

Fun way to spend an afternoon in Stockholm!

Really interesting walk around central Stockholm trying typical foods. I was a bit disappointed that although I had clearly written in the instructions that my friend doesn’t eat meat or shellfish, there was no real alternative options prepared for her in advance. We loved the fish soup and the prawns with dill. Overall a bit expensive for what it was but a fun experience.

Interesting walk and experience of Swedish food and culture. Only disappointment was that although I had specified at length that my friend who was with me doesn’t eat meat, the first and second stops hadn’t really been adapted for her. But the rest of the tour catered for her well. The fish soup we had was the best meal we had on our entire 4 day trip to Stockholm.

Not Nordic Enough
Chris_B
, Feb 2020
I have to say from the start that our guide Soma was brilliant and this review is no reflection on her. However whoever designed the tour needs to think again about the meaning of Nordic. No meatballs no reindeer instead three sugar stops and one amazing fish stop. I have been on approx six four tours to date all over the world and this is the first one where I needed to go and have something to eat afterwards.

This was an excellent introduction to Swedish cuisine. Our guide, Victoria, was wonderful. Her knowledge and communication skills were most impressive. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour!
