St Maarten Shore Excursion: Orient Beach, Marigot and Maho Beach

A little late but I gave to say how amazing this tour is and how amazing Jose is. I wasn't able to find a tour that offered everything this did (visit the Dutch and French side, Maho beach, shop). St. Maarten still had obvious signs of destruction from a past hurricane yet is the most hauntingly beautiful place I've ever been. The Guavaberry Rum is a must! Jose, I keep trying to convince Sean to nice there. Thank you so much! PS., please send some Guavaberry to Massachusetts - please and thanks! 😂

Stephen, our driver/guide, told us so much about this very interesting island. He was also very helpful with my sister, who needs knee surgery, assisting her in and out of the bus and wherever else she needed it without being asked. It is unfortunate that this beautiful island still hasn't recovered from the hurricanes of 2017, and it was sad to see and hear all of the details of what used to be there but was totally destroyed. That aside, if you are going to St. Maarten I would recommend this tour as it is very comprehensive. You get beach stops, shopping, the opportunity to buy pastries on the French side, and of course the airport at Maho Beach.

Jose was a fantastic guide. He was knowledgeable of the culture, history, and able to determine based on our group what to see and do. Definitely if you are wanting to see St. Maarten book this excursion.

Joese is the best! Greeted us with a hug and one the most positive attitudes one can experience. Extremely knowledgable about the island and its history. Knows where to go and how to have a good time. There should be a six star rating. Love this guy!

We arrived in St.Maarten on June 10, 2019, excited and ready for a fun day. Got off the ship. Looked for our tour guide. NO WHERE INSITE! Checked with other tours to see it they knew this Company. No one could help. Finally, we found three ladies from SMK tours. Theyvknew him and just rolled their eyes. They told us the gentlemen who ran this tour was extremely unreliable and had left others stranded. We asked if they had any availability on their tours - they did not. After about an hour, we found no one to help us get on another tour - everything booked. One of the ladies from SMK Tours called a person they occasionally used and asked him if he had time to take us on a short tour. HE HAD THE TIME! Howard arrived about 10 minutes later and took the 6 of us on a 4.5 hour tour - Orient Beach for swimming, Maho Beach to see the jet plane land right over us, Marigot for shopping and back to the ship - all for $30 per couple! Of course, he was generously paid a wonderful gratuity at the end of the day. THANK YOU - Howard! Thank you - SMK TOURS!

We loved our tour private with Jose. He was very knowledgeable about the island. We stopped in St Maarten as part of a cruise. My kids loved hearing his stories and as a result want to go back on vacation to the island. Great experience!
