Viator is untrustworthy!
Kevin_P

Viator is bad at communication. Use another source. They will take your money but then you are on your own and they don’t help and people will lie to you over the phone about why you can’t go even though you booked hours in advance. Makes zero sense.

I didn’t see a little more than a few sparkles here and there the glass bottom helped letting through those few sparkles otherwise it’s just physical exercise

Trip was uneventful, not worth the money.

This trip was not worth the money. The instructors were amazing and really make you get into Kayaking. My daughter and I got eaten alive while we were on the Bioluminescent Bay. They should really tell you to put on bug repellent. I got bit so bad that I wound up with a bacteria infection. As for the Luminescent Bay, it was a dud. They put a tarp over you and then you have to put your hand in the water and swish it around. You see sparks (maybe) and some people saw a little light. I didn't see anything light up. It was very disappointing. Kayaking back to land was very hard, you are going against the current and its pitch black. We paid good money for this experience in Puerto Rico and it was uneventful. The highlight of this trip was the bus that picked us up and the place we stopped for a 20 minutes. That was so much fun.

The canals and greenery...

The canals and greenery were beautiful. The bay didn't really light up as expected because it wasn't dark enough. Best to go during a new moon.

Fun outdoor experience

Super cool experience. However it was more abut the journey than the destination as the Kayaking thought the channels leading up to the lagoon was very fun. The moon during our trip was almost full so once we got to the lagoon they put the tarp over all the boats so we could see the sparkles when we put our hands under the water. It’s not like the pictures on the site. You are able to see see what looks like white sparks coming off your hands when you run your hand in the water. Don’t expect to see the blue glow shown on the pictures . Our guides Manolo and Omar were very good at helping people navigate in the dark when boats crashed against each other. Super cool !

Under whelming

Night time kayaking was a cool experience. But the bioluminescence was nothing like the website describes and the water is very very very smelly. Had to shower twice upon retuning.

Disappointed
Lisa_S

Terrible trip, after getting totally eaten alive by mosquitoes, including on my face, from kayaking through the mangroves, you enter the place that is supposed to have the bioluminescence but there is nothing. The water is totally dark and they put a rubber tarp over your heads and have you put your hand in the water and move your hand vigorously during which you see some sparkling while your hand moves, only under this rubber tarp, otherwise nothing, super disappointed. There are also too many groups going out at once, very crowded with people going on both sides of a narrow waterway with boats crashing into each other. They need to stop charging people to go on this to see totally dark water.

Disappointed

The most memorable part was the guide. Manolo (sp?) was great! He basically made the experience because we were disappointed in the actual kayak and time in the big bay. It was not as luminous as represented. Perhaps it would have been better during the day, so we could see the nature during the 1.5 mile kayaking to the bay, but I would still have been disappointed in the “luminous”.
