Official Alcatraz Tour + 2 Hour City Bucket List Excursion

Brendan’s commentary about the city was great and memorable. He was very helpful in dropping us off at a different location to make it more convenient for us. Overall very happy I did it.

It was a great tour! Taking the ferry to Alcatraz is nice and then you are free to visit Alcatraz on your own. You get a cassette to hear all the details about this jail. Interesting! The tour guide was very good, from England with the English humor! He knew so much history. A great tour!

We were visiting the area for just a couple days and thought this tour may help us see and do a lot in a little time. It was far more than what we had originally thought it would be! The self-guided Alcatraz Tour was excellent, and it was so easy because the tour company took care of everything- name and ID for adults was all we needed. The San Francisco Tour was a little longer than advertised, but it was well-worth the time for the amount of information (historical, social, culture, personal stories, etc.) shared with us from our tour guide, Brendan, in addition to all the sites we took in, neighborhoods visited, and picture locations. Definitely recommend!

Finally stepping inside Alcatraz was awesome. Getting there & back to San Francisco through the ferry was no problem. Our 90 minute tour of San Francisco was great. Brendan, was very nice, funny & informative, I guess because he grew up in the city. Also, getting a text from him the day before to make sure we have all the information we need & being able to ask questions is a big plus, and he answers back right away. The city is beautiful, weather is great, just happy we get to visit. Brendan also takes amazing pictures, so don’t miss the opportunity to ask him. Worth every penny.

Great tours. Alcatraz is fascinating and seeing it up close was nice. Also loved the San Francisco city tour. Brendan is very knowledgeable and funny. I’d recommend this tour to anyone.

Brendan, a SF native, provides a wonderful city tour. He takes you to all the SF highlights with opportunities for photo ops as well as little seen gems. Architecture, history and pop culture are included. Hints for restaurants and activities given. He will even drop you off at his recommended restaurant or area at the end of the tour. Enjoyed with the combined Alcatraz island tour.

Five stars for the second-half of the tour, after Alcatraz which was less impressive. AFTER pick-up from Pier 33 ... Tour Guide Brendan is a wizard at education while driving through the challenging (and interesting!) hilly streets of San Francisco! In just two hours on a zippy air-conditioned bus, we'd seen and learned a broad spectrum of social diversity, architectural history, street artistry, and breathtaking Bay area visibility. Comparatively speaking, Alcatraz seemed restrictive ... If you book the whole thing, keep in mind that traffic to the Alcatraz Landing Pier is awful, plus parking is costly! ... If you're delayed by traffic, you could lose the whole Alcatraz tour portion (some people were denied standby even after waiting an extra hour in the sun). For Alcatraz alone: 1.5 stars for unfriendly pier staff, a glitchy audio tour app, and a smelly island. I respectfully suggest that the second half of this tour (as advertised) works better as a standalone experience. 90 minutes of personable commentary while riding on a fun bus! As said, tour Guide Brendan was an impressive driver and talker and facilitated a fun learning experience on the streets of SF. For the street driving portion of this tour: 5 stars!!!

Alcatraz tour was very good. The small tour with Brandon at SF was an excellent tour from a locals point of view.

Great experience! Our guide was very knowledgeable of the city and very friendly. Since it's near the water a jacket is recommended.

The sights was most memorable! Our tour guide was funny and knowledgeable and took great pics! Would def recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience San Francisco!
