    Lovely trip on Highway 1

The driver and guide, Antonio, is excellent. You can tell that he enjoys his work. He makes frequent stops for us to take photos and points out where to go for the best shot. He even bought strawberries for everyone to sample. Highly recommend it.

I enjoyed the trip very much and look forward to coming back! Our driver was a little crass in telling people not to talk while he's talking but he was very informative.

Hello, Raun! I'm disappointed to hear your comments about our driver. This is not the way we treat our customers and we apologize for that. I'm glad to know, despite that, the trip was incredible and we are already waiting for you again for a new adventure. How about Napa or Yosemite, huh?! Isabela Vieira, Gray Line of San Francisco

Worth the price! Antonio was the best!

    , Jul 2022
This was well worth the price. Our tour guide Antonio was the absolute best! Any setbacks were made better with his fun energy and stories. I would recommend getting a headset for your drivers though. Antonio did well without it but had to hold a microphone in one had while her drives which can be a safety concern. The tour was great but maybe a little too long in Carmel and Cannery Row..maybe adding another stop and making those shorter would be better.

Touring Monterey and Carmel with my daughter
    Victoria_G
    , Jul 2022
Our driver, Antonio, was very professional and appeared to really love being a driver and tour guide. He was very conscientious about the guess and our enjoyment. Antonio was very knowledgeable about the area and shared several interesting historical facts and funny stories.

    TERRIBLE
    Jessamine_M
    , Jul 2022
The agenda/views are great but unfortunately our tour guide was horrible. First of all he arrived super late and didn’t seem to be bothered by it. He never introduced himself. He spent most of our time being condescending, sarcastic, and rude. He made an effort to speak to us as children when all of us are adults. His people skills are poor. It made this long day unbearable. It’s obvious that this type of job isn’t for him. We all paid a big price tag for this adventure and it was a big disappointment. I don’t recommend this tour to anyone unless they invest in a better tour guide.

This was a very long day,...
    Mary_I
    , Jul 2022
This was a very long day, but our tour guide was awesome. I wish we would have left the people who were constantly 20 minutes late at each stop as it made the day even longer. I do not think we needed that much time at Carmel. More time in Monterey would have been nice.
icon Response from Host , Jul 2022
Hello, Mary! Thank you for writing a review about our tour. It's sad that some people don't respect the time we set for each place we stop and that ends up upseting the whole group... Glad it was an enjoyable day and glad to hear that our tour guide did a good job. We hope to see you again soon! Isabela Vieira, Sales and Marketing Coordinator Gray Line of San Francisco

    Bus broke down….
    Sonia_H
    , Jul 2022
The pick up time was 8am. The driver arrived 45 minutes late. The scenery was beautiful. A nice trip if the bus engine didn’t fail and left us in Carmel for over an hour. Bus was to return to San Francisco by 6: 30 but didn’t return till 9:45pm. Most restaurants closed and unable to have dinner. The additional delay was caused by having to switch buses to prevent further breakdowns. Some passagers got off and took Uber home ( over 25 miles). This was no fault of the driver who was very upset and pleasant. This ruined our stay.

    Long day
    Ariel_K
    , Jul 2022
Knowledgeable guide, just a long day in general on a tour bus. Maybe the trip can be shortened? We were back much later than planned which sort of threw off scheduling. You see a lot in the day and have nice coast views (sit on the right side of the bus). But I would recommend driving yourself to go at your own pace.

We had a great day! Yes it was a long drive but we saw so much. Would have liked more time at Monterey and Pebble Beach instead of Carmel. Our driver was great and told us lots of information about the area and where we was visiting. Would recommend this trip

    Not worth it
    Michele_K
    , Jun 2022
Almost 12 and a half hours from when we got picked up to dropped back off. Bathroom on bus had water and who knows what else all over the floor and broken toilet cover. Tour guide had us stop at a small restaurant to use the bathroom and get a drink if we wanted. One toilet for an entire bus load of people and other restaurant patrons. Since we were told we must be back to bus by 10:20 and we were we were not able to get through restroom line. Tour guide was rather rude to my friend and I. Put a damper on the whole trip. But the driver got us back safely.

It was an amazing experience. There was some mechanical issue with the bus, but our guide left no stone unturned in making sure we did not waste any time and still have a great experience. We did not miss any of the spots that we were originally supposed to cover. Plus the bus was very comfortable for sitting in the whole day. I travelled with my old parents and they loved every bit of it. Overall is an an amazing experience.

Thomas was an excellent tour guide who added a bit of Irish wit to his commentary with a wealth of information. We added the Monterey Aquarium to the trip for the 2 hour stop even though I knew we’d be rushed. Our 16 yr old grandson enjoyed. Views of the Pacific coast were beautiful & the small hike to Bird Rock very nice.
