Make your own way to the visitor center of San Antonio to board the open-top, double-decker bus, or simply hop on at any of the stops around the city.

The Alamo is perhaps number one of the top attractions that you can visit. Founded by Spanish missionaries in the late 1700s and known then as Mission San Antonio de Valero, the Alamo was the site of a famous battle that marked the end of the Texas Revolution in 1836. Legendary people including Davey Crockett, Jim Bowie and Colonel Travis fought in that bloody battle.

Near the Alamo, you can walk to the San Antonio River Walk, a network of walking paths along the river that are lined with shops, art galleries and great restaurants.

Your bus passes a number of outdoor markets and stops at HemisFair Park, a delightful urban park that is home to the Tower of the Americas, which was constructed for the 1968 World's Fair and stands 750 feet (229 meters) tall. Explore the King William Historic District, wander down St Mary’s Street and more.

If you like, visit the historic Cathedral of San Fernando, built in 1734 by Spanish settlers from the Canary Islands, and the burial site for many soldiers that perished in the Battle of the Alamo.

From the bus, enjoy clear views of the city and recorded commentary that describes the sites you pass. A full list of stops can be found in the Itinerary section below.

Choose either a 1-, 2-, or 4-day ticket and tour the city at your own pace. Tickets include a map of the route and list of sites, plus admission to the Centro de Artes Museum.

The knowledge gained of the history of San Antonio is worth every penny spent on the tour.

Captain K was our tour guide and he was amazing. He gave lots of suggestions & was very knowledgeable. My family and I actually went to eat breakfast at one of his suggested locations.

It was a great way to get to several different sites we wanted to see in San Antonio. One guide we had, Angle, was awesome and we learned quite a few interesting facts about the area.

Great tool for any city vacation

Great way to start your trip to “gain your bearings” in a new to you city. Great way of transportation during your trip. Always a fun way to receive basic history and other information.

The Market Square was the best part of the tour. Many booths and shops to purchase all kind of things Texas.

Nice experience

Busses were pretty much on the schedule they said. Drivers/guides were good. The route was different than on the map, but not really an issue. Liked the flexibility of getting on and off at any time and even going again is necessary.
Hop on Hop off …. A way to see San Antonio
, Mar 2022
Found it disappointing that the Bus driver does not have the capability of checking you in with Electronic ticket. In this day and age to go to Main office to get a paper ticket seems a waste
Not impressed
, Mar 2022
Inconvenient when purchasing ticket online - you are required to go to the office located at The Alamo to receive a paper ticket before riding the bus. Why can’t we immediately begin riding with QR code provided on our phone at time of purchase? We had to Uber to the office instead of hoping on the bus closest to our hotel. Available stops were not clear along the route. We did not feel safe getting off the bus in several areas. Very disappointed.
Great Experience

Very good experience We had a great 😊 time and will recommend this site to our friends and family ❤️
Great tour with great food options.
, Feb 2022
I love the ability to jump on or off. To see different parts of the city. Highly recommend waiting to eat lunch if you are wanting to eat because this is almost a best places to eat in San Antonio tour. Wish we would of done that.

We had a great time on the tour bus; it was very helpful. We decided to do the tour, get familiar with places we wanted to explore and did the hop on hop off the second time. We enjoyed having Catherine as a tour guide, she was informative, friendly, and funny!
Beautiful city tour lacked historical information.
, Nov 2021
Wait time between for bus was 45 minutes the day we visited. Lady driver and speaker kept repeating herself, and not providing historical information rather her impression. There was not much useful information and annoying to listen to.

Lot of great information.

Great tour of the city; the only bad part was No one could understand what the narrator was saying 80%of the time.

See the city on one hour!
, May 2021
Pick a good weathered day. I went end of May and missed the rain and caught a sunny humid 80s but windy day. Chill on top enjoy the sun and find the places you want to come back to. I’d take a full ride first then stay on and get off at the stops you want. Great way to see the city especially with a family and for cheap!
Ducking limbs in San Antonio
, Apr 2021
A very enjoyable experience. Might want to point out the tree limbs that pass low overhead! There are probably more stops that could be added.
Love San Antonio
, Mar 2021
The Alamo and the Pearl were the ones that caught my eyes more they are beautiful places to visit also the river walk is so relaxing I enjoy everything about San Antonio definitely coming back 😍👌🏻

We had the best time doing our first time in San Antonio Tx... omg what else do u want to say it’s been wonderful
Underwhelming and expensive
, Dec 2019
San Antonio is a very walkable city and this tour is vastly overpriced and unnecessary. It is very possible to see each of the stops on foot within just a few hours. The stops on this tour include hotels and other venues that lack any history or culture, and that no one would care to see. Most of the stops are located within a block of one another, rendering the tour largely unnecessary. For anyone visiting San Antonio, I do not recommend taking this tour – do a google search of the 5-6 sites you’d like to see in the city, wear a pair of comfortable sneakers and get walking. You’ll save $38 per person and get to see everything you wish up-close.

Good way to see the city, and get a feel for the city. However, tour didn't provide much more. 1guide we had was entertaining and engaging; another just drove and played a recording. Depending on where you sit in the bus, it can be extremely difficult to hear the commentary.

An excellent way to see all the sights of the City. The tour guides were very knowledgeable of the history of the city and were very entertaining with their narratives.

Seeing sites this way is the best way to see what you want to see. However A/C in all buses could be better.
