Bring your bathing suit, and start with morning pickup from your Reykjavik hotel or cruise port. Then, settle into a comfortable, shared coach, and admire Iceland’s volcanic interior as you travel to the Secret Lagoon, located near Fludir in the Golden Circle area.

After time on the road, arrive and take in the fairy tale-like setting, made even more magical by the clouds of steam rising from the lagoon.

The geothermal lagoon is Iceland’s oldest swimming pool and framed by pretty countryside, geothermal hotspots, and a small geyser that spouts every few minutes. Fed by underground hot springs, the warm waters give off steam and stay at 100-104° Fahrenheit (38-40 Celsius) all year round.

Use the changing facilities, and enjoy ample time to soak in the waters, admiring the scenery as you bathe. If you’re here in winter, you may catch a display of the Northern Lights in the skies overhead as you bathe.

After two hours at the Lagoon, you embark upon the quintessential Icelandic tour to the Geysir geothermal area in the Haukadalur valley, where the Strokkur fountain geyser spouts water high into the air every few minutes, before visiting the majestic “Golden Waterfall” of Gullfoss, considered by many to be Iceland’s most beautiful waterfall.

Finally, stop at the inspiring Thingvellir National Park. Learn about the foundation of the world's oldest, and still functioning parliament, that happened here in 930AD. Then, view the meeting point of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates that are slowly pulling apart.

After you will hop back inside a coach for the return ride to Reykjavik, where your experience ends with a drop-off at the cruise port or your central Reykjavik hotel.

I would definitely recommend this trip, it is a perfect and comfortable way to combine lots of highlights into one day, and the secret lagoon makes it extra special. The organization by Bus travel Iceland went very smoothly, very professional and authentic. Our guide Howser was great: very knowledgeable, lots of fun facts to share and great sense of humor.

A fantastic day trip

We had a fantastic day trip doing this tour. The bus collected us at our stop which was just outside our hotel. Our guide 'Iceman' was really good with lots of stories, jokes and information about Iceland and he added extra stops to our itinerary enroute. We had perfect weather which was great and the stop at the Secret Lagoon was amazing. For those worried by other reviews saying that you need to shower naked, don't worry as most people showered with the costume on. I would however suggest taking a bright, different towel or an old one as someone took our towel off the hook (they are so many towels hanging on the towel wall outside by the pool). The waterfall was incredible and the geysers are truly amazing to see nature working at it's best. We had plenty of time at each stop but as we went at the end of April it was still light outside until late at night but he did say in December they only get 4 hours of daylight so I would take that into account when booking a tour. The bus trip was relaxing between the sites and I think that it is better to do a tour like this rather than self driving as we were told about the sites and got a lot of information. We loved the day out and would highly recommend it.

Travelled with a guide with the surname of ‘Howzer’, he is an absolutely fantastic guide, extremely informative, even took us on detours and showed us extra locations as we were ahead of schedule. Could only wish we can travel with him again.

What a great trip!! The guides Atli, Tomak and Caroline were great! Atli had some incredible stories and interesting facts and history to share which made the trip! The sites are stunning! My only concern is at the Kerid crater, if you weren’t very mobile, you would struggle to get around in the time we had at the stop. We felt a little rushed here however, we had plenty of time at the other stops. They even made an extra stop to feed some Icelandic horses on our way back. Great trip, great guides and stunning scenery!

Great trip, really enjoyed the tour and the tour guide Yacob was very knowledgeable and made the trip throughly enjoyable. 10 out of 10, even though we had all seasons of weather in 1 day, the trip was worth it

So much seen in a day.

This is one of the best day trips I’ve been on. Pick up on time and many memorable stops. The guide was very knowledgeable and would give you a brief guide to each place either on the journey or when you arrived but didn’t talk all the time so you could sit back and enjoy the scenery too. A good amount of time in each spot. High light was the secret lagoon and watching the geyser. But the other stops were just as good too. Would highly recommend.

It was all memorable! The volcanic crater, the geyser, the thermal pool, and especially the National park where the North American and the Eurasian tectonic plates are drifting apart. Our guide was pleasant and provided many interesting facts about Iceland and the people.

Fantastic local guide& great lagoon!
Mackenzie_D
, Apr 2022
I really enjoyed this tour. Our guide was so enthusiastic and knew everything about the island and its natural history. The tour size was just perfect for the excursions we took. The secret lagoon was so relaxing and a great beginning to a long day. The weather was absolutely horse dung, pardon my French. Even our native guide said this was the worst weather he’d seen since he was a kid. I still give the tour five starts for the way I still had such an enjoyable and educational day out in the flash floods and occasional sleet. Of course this tour is not designed for the faint of heart. So if you’re an adventurous and tough person like myself, you’ll get your monies’ worth despite the weather. The more fair weathered friends should wait for a sunny day.

We had a great day yesterday! Our driver/guide, Jakob, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic to share his stories and history of Iceland. Highly recommend 😁 Although check where your nearest pick up point is. We walked 20 mins only to discover that there was a pickup point just round the corner from our hotel!
