Overview

Go exploring underwater in a part of the Cook Islands that’s only accessible to those in the know. On this unique snorkelling experience, take a sea scooter through a lagoon passage that people can only swim through at certain times of the day. Once there, discover a thriving marine environment full of colourful fish and coral outcrops; look out for exciting wildlife like sea turtles, eagle rays and harmless reef sharks.
  • Head into the passage confidently with plenty of advance coaching from your guide
  • Visit the local Coral Gardens, home to young fish and other underwater critters
  • At roughly ninety minutes, this experience is great for those with tight schedules
  • Give back to local marine conservation initiatives with your ticket price

A good first-timers adventure

Started on time. Both instructor/guides (Luca & Mere) were great. Wetsuit/reef shoes/flippers/snorkel-mask/Sea scooter fitting was quick & easy with plenty of sizes available. Safety instruction/briefing was good & to the point. For a first timer using a sea scooter, I felt comfortable & safe at all times. There was ample time to play around with the Sea scooter within the confines of the harbour prior to going out to the reef & beyond. The coral was great, but due to large swells beyond the reef, we were resricted a bit on how far to go out (we went about 500m off-shore, in about 15m of water). The view was clear. Although we saw no turtles, I did however float directly over a HUGE Hawaian Stringray on the way back in. So, overall, I think it was a great 3 or so hours for a first timer.
