On ordering this excursion we told viator we were bringing our own folding wheel chair. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised not only that they accommodated the chair in the back but we had own jeep to ourselves. Overall we had a very good day exploring and all the staff were very good , I would definitely recommend this trip for the future.

This excursion was a lot of fun and you had the opportunity to see more of DR besides just at your resort.

This excursion was amazing! The company picked us on time.We stopped at a local gas station to meet with others jeeps. If its only two of you then you will have to share the jeep with another couple unless you book for 3 or more people. Our group was fun and adventures and we rotated drivers at every stop. Dominicans drive crazy so please be careful lol. After meeting up the jeep tour will go to a person house and see how they live. It is amazing and you'll get to sample fruit and coffee. Afterwards, it's about a 30 minute drive to go horseback riding on a very scenic view. After horseback riding, it's a zipline already at the location and you zip two big lines! Once you're done zip lining you will have a snack Dominican food and it's great!!! After the snack the next drive is to cigar factory. You will get to sample cigars and roll cigars. The people at the cigar place was nice and helpful with teaching how to roll. After the cigar tour, the next drive is to Macocoa Beach. The beach is great no seaweed like on the resorts but there are so many people trying to sell you things so do not take out any money because if they see money they will become agreesive and pressure you into a sale. There are a few places on the beach that they are not at. After about 30 minutes on the beach there will be lunch provided and you will be transferred back to resort. The guides on this tour is great.

The entire tour was amazing! Philippe(our guide) is warm and inviting from the time he picks you up from your resort to the time he drops you off. The tour is packed with Dominican culture, starting at the home of the forever young Christian- who gives you a short and comical history lesson on making coffee and other fun facts! On to the horseback, zipline and cigar factory, ending at the beach( the only one with no seaweed)! My wife and I enjoyed it immensely and highly recommend...todas dias muy bien!

The tour leaders were exceptional, knowledgeable, friendly and made our day amazing. I think I liked visiting the native family the best and experienced their home as well as chocolate and coffee tasting. I would highly recommend this if you want to experience the area and native people and customs. Thank you for such a great day. Marie, from the group of 8 from New England.

Overall a fun experience and exactly what we were looking for as a way to escape the resort and learn about the Dominican Republic. Our guide Elio was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and helpful throughout our entire trip. He and the rest of the tour team made the best of a day where the weather didn't necessarily cooperate, but made sure that we were taken care of and got our money's worth. Getting to drive through the tropical countryside away from the resort was really an immersive experience that we enjoyed so much. Our first stop took us to a visit with a typical Dominican family and getting to see how they live on a daily basis. The experience was humbling as it reminded us how much we have as Americans and yet how much they enjoyed their lives and appreciated all that they have. While we were there we got to meet all of their cute dogs, sample raw cocoa beans, natural ground chocolate, hot chocolate drink, coffee, bananas, mangos, and the native drink Mamajuana. All of the products were available for purchase and went towards supporting that family's farming business. Our next stop was at a ranch where we got to ride horses through the property, over a small river, and back. Some of the horses had minds of their own and wandered off the path at times, but for the most part it was fun. The animals did look underfed though and we did not like that aspect of it. Following the ride, it started pouring so we took cover under the pavilion and waited out the shower with a shot of Mamajuana and some dancing. After the rain let up, we were able to go on the zip line which had three sections. Everything was very safe and the scenery was really cool to fly over. All the while, the tour guides are taking pictures that they post to their Facebook page within a few days for you to tag yourself. After that, the guides took us to a tobacco plantation where we were able to view the process of rolling cigars and got to do the job ourselves! We were each given a shot of the warm chocolate drink and a small cigar to enjoy during our time there. You can also purchase cigars while you are there as well. The last stop on our trip was at a more secluded beach where we enjoyed an authentic Dominican lunch of soup, white rice, and fried chicken. All of which were delicious! Again, the rain put a bit of damper on the afternoon, but we really enjoyed the food and had a covered table to sit at and relax. After the last stop, we drove back to our resort and left the jeep with our guide Elio. Overall we really enjoyed the trip. We did have to share our jeep with another duo that was on the trip as well, which neither one of us was expecting. I don't know if the tour company didn't have enough jeeps available or what happened exactly, but it was a small inconvenience as my wife and I were hoping for it to be just us. Either way, we made the best of it and alternated drivers and had a good time. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone staying in the area. Be sure to bring money with you to purchase any of the products along the way as well as to tip your tour guide.
