Located right in the historic center of Porto, Praça da Ribeira, next to the quay with the same name, is one of the oldest squares in the city, already mentioned in royal letters in 1389. This led to the infamous Ponte das Barcas, where in 1809 more than 4,000 people died during an onslaught of French troops. Today a bronze bas-relief attests to this moment.

13.3miles of biking
Shara_F
, Jun 2021
Biking around town is such a beautiful way to see Porto. This tour is not recommended for a novice biker. We biked solidly for 3.15 hours, covering 13.3 miles with a big hill at the end. We were very tired after the ride and my children were not happy with me for the rest of the evening. You should wear helmets as some areas were fast paced downhill.

Antonio was a very interesting guide who shared his wonderful knowledge of Porto and the history of portugal with us. It was just my husband and I as the tour groups are very small. We were shown parts of the city that we would never have known about and they were easily accessible by bike. Beautiful parks and beaches. Than you for such a great morning.

Ended up being a small group with only 4 of us + the guide, really feel like you get to explore the whole area of Porto from the city to the ocean and back, and the guide gave the perfect amount of information throughout ranging from the history of the city to explaining Dutch colonization etc. Highly recommend!!

Our bike guide/ host was a very friendly, personable and welcoming. We love to explore a new city on a bike. We got to learn more about the shipping industry and history of Portugal/Porto as we rode through different neighbourhoods. We took lots of breaks to get photos. Oh did I forget to mention my wife and I were the only ones on this bike tour? We took a small ferry across the river to continue our bike tour. We stopped at a local cafe to enjoyed some delicious coffee and pastry. This tour took us on both sides of the river. You really get to see Porto from all sides. You do not have to be in Olympic shape. But there were a few minutes we were working hard. Over all a great bike tour well worth the money and time spent in Porto.

Insiders Tour of Porto

IMattias was our guide and I am certain that I am spelling his name wrong. He had a great personality and provided great insight into life in the City of Porto and what is special about it. Our excursion took us along the Douro River to the Atlantic, several parks and the City of Gaia. The ride was at an appropriate pace although the ride included a few inclines. The bike tour was the best part of my stay in Porto.

Awesome way to see parts of Porto we otherwise would have missed. Easy, relatively flat ride, with one short incline. Felt safe the whole time. Our guide, Moreno, was terrific!

This bike tour was our favorite activity in Porto! What a great way to see more of the city. We biked the coast, through a park, stopped for coffee and a delicious pastel de nata, and then took a boat across the Duoro for the other side's view. What a great trip! The amount of time was perfect and our guide, Eloisa, could not have been nicer. The bike ride was just the right amount of activity, too, and you feel safe biking the entire way.
