Finally, it’s time for a sample of Port at a locally loved wine bar, which boasts more than 200 wines on its wine list. From there, continue to a generations-old tavern to enjoy some of the finest tapas in town.

Great Food in a Great Location

Great food tour in a great location! Lots to see as we walked through the old town. We stopped in quaint little spots you would never find on your own and had drink and food pairing in each. Drinks included beer, green wine, red wine, port and expresso. Food included prosciutto, cheese, cod croquets, traditional pork sandwiches and Portuguese tarts. And we had a fun group which our guides, Sophia and made even more fun.

The tour was exactly stated in the description. Our guide Sophia ( who is a local from across the river) went above and beyond from the typical food tours I experience on vacation. I recommend it to all.

We had the best tour guide ever! Joao was our guide and he truly loves his city of Porto! This tour was more than tasting! We ate so much that we were too full for dinner! We took our 11 yr old twins and they made sure they had water/soda when we had wine! Great experience made better by our guide I’m sure!

I would leave more stars if I could. Maria was superb! We learned more about Porto in 3 hours than in the rest of our stay. What a fantastic experience!

great experience, be prepared to drink!

This experience was great! Be warned it did focus a lot more on the alcohol side of things than the food, which was a bit disappointing overall since my husband doesn't drink wine. There was coffee, beer, and 3 glasses of wine with 4 different foods distributed over 5 stops. The small place we went to with local cheeses and meats was by far my favorite!

Lucas was a fabulous guide and our group became fast friends. I loved the hole-in-the-wall places that we never would have known about. All the owners were so friendly and appreciative that we had come in. Highly recommend this tour!

Fun walking tour, good food without over-doing it

Great sample of the cuisine of Porto. Experiences that are different than big, obvious restaurants - several Mom and Pop, family owned establishments with different twists on authentic local food. Great wine, finished with a good Port wine tasting at the end. This tour is big on experience, but will not leave you feeling over-full, and that's a good thing.

Great experience of typical Portuguese food at local merchants we would probably not find on our own! Teresa was an awesome guide! Super personable with many suggestions for more things for us to do. We loved the local feel! We were a group of 5- my husband and I, my parents (71 & 73) and our 9 year old daughter. Totally doable for all despite walking from place to place. The food stops gave everyone plenty of rest:) Highly recommend!

We had such a brilliant time. Great food and drink. It was less of the tourist walking trip than I thought it was going to be, more of a chance to sample food and make conversation with a great group of people.

Our guide , Teresa, was by far the best part of this tour. She was amazing! The tour itself was great. We were able to see a different side of the city with Teresa taking the time to really talk to us and share her experiences and culture. The places we went to were also very well chosen and you could see that the owners are very welcoming. I would truly recommend!

A Brave Tour
Chad_T

I enjoyed this food tour a lot and felt that our tour guide Eduarda did an amazing job explaining every detail of our tour. She knew everything about our stops and did not rush at all. Eduarda also took care of a tour member who needed to make a pharmacy purchase. The tour itself was amazing with both food and drinks at each stop. I enjoyed the train station before our last stop. I loved the old 1980’s cafe run by a husband and wife couple. The hot sauce with the challenge ‘are you brave’ enticed a few of us to be brave. Thanks for a wonderful slice of Porto.
