What To Expect

In the early morning, board an air-conditioned minivan destined for the rolling hills of the Douro Valley. During the scenic drive, your guide provides commentary and details the day ahead.

Your first stop is Peso da Régua, a sprawling riverside town famed for its production of port wine, where you drink in vistas of the city from an elevated lookout point. Then, visit wine estates to sample locally produced wine during a tasting session.

Lunch: expect to enjoy dishes such as roasted chicken, spicy rice, and fish stew.

Sated, board a boat and enjoy a river cruise down the Douro; delight in your beautiful surroundings before you return to the coach and travel to another viewpoint to capture sweeping panoramas of the landscape.

After stopping at a small wine village enshrouded in history, return to your Porto hotel and bid your guide farewell.

What an amazing trip! Our tour guide and driver were so lovely and welcoming. The drive to Duoro was really quick and the beauty spots we stopped at were breathtaking. The wineries and boat trip were fascinating and fun and the four course lunch was delicious. 10/10 recommend - excellent value.

Not As Advertised - Traveler Beware!

Even though I responded that I would recommend to a friend, I do have some very strong criticisms of the trip we took. First, the music that was played on the bus in both directions was obnoxious. I asked the tour guide Melina to please turn the volume down but she did not do that. I would like to suggest that no music be played on the bus because people have different tastes in music and it is better to just eliminate music altogether. Secondly, there is no need to go to two vineyards. We got the same information at the second vineyard as we did at the first. Also, in your advertising, there is no information whatsoever of the trip being a bus trip. It is supposed to be a Riverboat Tour, not a bus tour. The riverboat was only 1 hour out of an almost 12 hour day. Your company totally misrepresented the trip. And you should also mention that this tour is not handicapped friendly. You do not warn people of the amount of walking up a steep path that has to happen at the first vineyard. I am physically able but not everyone is. You really need to tell people the truth. The wines were wonderful and the Douro Valley is beautiful but you need to redesign this tour.

Hello, Thank you for your review. Even though every person has their taste in music, we let the radio be played during the trip. As know, the travel between Douro and Porto takes around 1h20. This is a way that, in the moments the guide is not speaking, there is background music. Not loud, that´s not the point of the tour. The tour includes a visit to two wineries, to provide all the people that visit the Douro has a full experience. Even though the making process is similar, the dimensions of the states are different. You visited a small family-owned producer and large-scale producer. Allowing you to taste different wines from different producers. The other point of your review is thinking it was a full-day boat trip. Well, on our tour page it says more than once: Boat trip (1h). On the itinerary is also mentioned the boat trip lasts 1h. All along with the tour page, it says the timing between travels and places, the vehicles we use on the tours among other points. At any point or text, it says it will be an 8h full-day boat trip. At the end of your review, you also wrote about the tour being handicapped-friendly. The first winery has a steeper entrance and stairs, that's true. That´s why, when you do the reservation, it asks if you have any kind of special requirement we need to consider such as a cane, difficulty walking, wheelchair or crutches. So we know beforehand that we must change the winery to another to make it easier for those passengers. Have a great 2022.

Really fun day trip from Porto. Ended up with a nice group of people which always makes a difference on a trip. Informative and friendly guide although not over the top or annoying as some can be. Lovely visits to two wineries and quite a nice lunch although I'd rather have a meal with a view/at a winery.

Perfect Day Trip from Porto

This trip out to the Duoro Valley was the perfect day trip. Evo picked me up from my hotel on time. He followed all the covid protocols throughout the day. The drive out to the valley was pleasant with Evo giving us information about what to expect and some background on the area. Our first stop was a small winery. We got a short tour of the facility with information on the win making process and then tasted three varieties of port wine. After that, we took our boat ride for glorious views of the valley. After the boat, we were taken to a view from atop one of the hills for more gorgeous views down into the valley. Our final stop was another small winery. We had a very nice lunch (choice of pork, fish or pasta) on the patio with table wine from the winery. It was a nice paced lunch with great conversation with our group. After lunch, we moved to the tasting room with a very enthusiastic lesson on the proper way to taste vintage port. It was enlightening and a lot of fun! Evo then dropped our group of at each respective hotel. I highly recommend this trip!!
