Unfortunately i am Unable to review due to poor weather conditions and the trip being cancelled, The most disappointing thing about it was i had planned to ask my partner to marry me on the train that day as a surprise so that didn't happen either, Instead we drove to Torquay and i proposed at the end of the pier and before you ask she said YES

What a Lovely Day

We took the tour in late June when the weather was perfect - Sunny skies and with cool sea breeze. The boat cruise was relaxing. We got on the boat from Poole and took about an hour to arrive at Swanage Bay. The onboard commentary was a little hard to hear, but the scenery was more than enough to make up for it. From Swanage Bay pier it was a short walk to the train station. The train ride was also very leisurely. It went through some very cute Thomas the Train type of stations and we got off at the Corfe Castle station where we spent a good amount of time exploring the Castle and having lunch at the little town before we headed back on the train, then back to the pier, to the boat, and wrapped up the day. The tour was self-directed so we had all the flexibility to decide what we wanted to spend time on. It was a wonderful way to spend a holiday.

This was a combined day trip out with a lovely ferry trip from Poole to Swanage. We then caught the delightful steam train from Swanage to Corfe Castle and back. The whole trip was very well management by friendly and helpful staff. Great day out and highly recommend it.

This is a really good affordable day out. The boat trip was really enjoyable and we felt in good hands. The views were amazing even on a not so good day and the commentary was helpful and interesting. We arrived at Swanage onto the lovely Victorian wooden pier and walked about 15 minutes to get to the train station. The train ride was great with it's bouncy old seats. We loved looking out of the window and seeing the steam and hearing the noises. You could stop at Corfe castle which we chose not to but would be worth doing. We had a walk around Swanage before our return boat trip back.

This combined booking Sea cruise and Steam Train to Corfe Castle made for an excellent day out. Admittedly, we had glorious weather so that really enhanced the experience. Informative commentary from the Captain was interesting. Stunning scenery! The trip is about 1 hr to Swanage. If you have time, Swanage is lovely town. For the best Fish and Chips EVER, try 'The Fish Plaice'. It takes a good 15 mins to walk to the train station from the harbour, so be mindful if you want to catch a particular train or the return boat, as you'll have to leave yourself enough time to get to and from the station. Having been given the train timetable in Poole from the ticket office before we left was helpful. We were only slightly disappointed that there were limited Steam engines running on the day we visited and because of the timings to get the boat back to Poole, we had to ride a Diesel train both ways. This by no means took away from the experience. Corfe Castle National Trust is amazing - especially for kids. They can dress up and there are lots of ruins for them to climb on and over. For those with mobility problems, walking around the castle could be a challenge as the ground is very uneven and some paths are steep. The little village is very charming. Note: If you need to get a particular boat back, don't arrive too close to the departure time, as you may find there isn't room for you. They only allow so many people on the boat and it may be full by the time you get there and you'll have to wait for the next one which may be an hour or 2 later. On our return boat trip, we were treated to the sounds of a live band - they were excellent! Part of a 'mini music festival' that weekend with lots of music being played in different locations around Poole. All in all, excellent value for money.

Lovely day out! Advise you to get to the boat early. Great views on the boat. It's about 1/2 mile walk to the train station but through the shops! Stream train again very nice (buy a coffee to take on board) Corfe castle recommend, with lunch or Afternoon tea @ NT over looking the castle

Most enjoyable and very good value for money. 1.5 hours from Poole Harbour along Jurassic Coast to Swanage. Time to walk to station and board Steam Train. Got off at Corfu and even though dinosaurs feel like the climb up to the Castle, could have done. You need warm clothes on the boat. Interesting commentary.
