Versailles takes the cake when it comes to over-the-top palaces of Europe. Your tour of the famed royal residence begins in central Paris, where you’ll board a coach for the scenic, 30-minute drive to Versailles.

For your first stop, visit the Queen’s Hamlet — the personal playground of Marie Antoinette. See the full-scale replica of a Normandy village and working farm that she commissioned as a countryside escape from the pressures of palace life. Visit Petit Trianon, a neoclassical château gifted to Marie Antoinette by King Louis XVI as her personal residence and retreat.

Continue on to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Palace of Versailles, where you’ll breeze past the long queues with your skip-the-line ticket. Learn about the 17th-century palace’s history and hear tales of elaborate court customs as you walk through the Hall of Mirrors, sumptuous royal apartments and ornate chapel.

After your palace tour, take a stroll through the Versailles Gardens. Covering nearly 2,000 acres (809 hectares), the Baroque-style gardens feature elaborate hedge mazes and fantastical sculptured fountains. Enjoy leisure time here before reconnecting with your guide for the return drive to Paris, where you’ll be dropped off in the early evening.
Stop At:
The Trianons & The Hamlet
After arriving in the town of Versailles, head straight to Queen Marie-Antoinette’s idyllic hamlet. In 1682, the grounds were declared the official royal residence and Louis XIV eventually set up separate quarters for his wife, Queen Marie-Antoinette. Attesting to his elaborate tastes, her home resembles a fairytale village. You’ll have approximately an hour to explore the hamlet and farmhouse and visit Le Petit Trianon, her handsome personal palace.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At:
Palace of Versailles
Meet back at the bus and drive to the Palace of Versailles. Founded in the early 17th century, the showstopping palace was officially built as a royal hunting lodge for King Louis XIII. During Louis XIV’s reign, lavish wraparound gardens and a succession of extravagant additions to the lodge were added, transforming it into one of the world’s most decadent palaces. The sprawling Baroque chateau is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site with centuries of history to match its grandeur. Walk past the palace’s long entrance lines with your skip-the-line ticket and head inside for your inside walking guided tour with your guide. Explore public rooms like the chapel, the King’s Grand Apartments, and Hall of Mirrors – where crystal chandeliers hang from frescoed ceilings and the walls are covered with gilded mirrors.
Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes

Pass By:
The Royal Chapel
The Royal Chapel, Louis XIV’s last major building project and his spiritual legacy, is one of the jewels of the Palace of Versailles, along with the Hall of Mirrors. Officially announced in 1682, the work did not actually begin until 1699, and was completed in 1710.
Pass By:
The Hall of Mirrors
The Hall of Mirrors, the most famous room in the Palace, was built to replace a large terrace designed by the architect Louis Le Vau, which opened onto the gardens.
Stop At:
Le Jardin de Versailles
After gazing at the plush interiors with your guide, then head outside the palace to partly explore Versailles Gardens at leisure, a 2,000-acre (809-hectare) park filled with fountains, statues, and classic formal garden landscaping. You will even get the chance to see the Musical Gardens show if joining the tour on a Tuesday or a Friday or the Musical Fountains Show if taking the tour on a Saturday or a Sunday. Having strolled the gardens, meet your guide and travel back to central Paris where your tour finishes with a drop-off in the early evening.

Great trip
, Nov 2019
Young lady had great knowledge of Versailles and Louis IV. All went well, except got lost in Marie's garden. Perhaps the people could put up some sign posts as directions.. We followed a sign that said Little Trianon but then led to 3 pathways, not very helpful when trying to get back to bus waiting for us.
Fun Half Day Trip

First off the tour guide (Princess AKA Beyonce) was awesome. Very informative and friendly. This trip was a half day. You start out by going to the pickup point. My recommendation is to googlemaps the address and to try and use your phone for GPS as the streets are very confusing. Once you get to the pickup point they take in you to Versailles in a large van or small bus. You then are able to walk the grounds at Marie Antoinette's Trianon. You have about an hour (which you cant see everything in that time) before you get bused off to the main Versailles. You then have a guided tour of the palace. After that you have about an hour to explore at your own pace before you are taken back to the drop off point. All in all it was good to have the guide as opposed to going on your own. I recommend the tour.
Awestruck Versailles

I really enjoyed my day at Versailles! We had the most wonderful guide! Myeva was truly a delight. We had a great driver as well! Nice bus too. I wish we had more time at the venue's though...scrambling to try and see both...not enough time on grounds.

Enjoyed outside Gardens more than inside crowds
, Jul 2019
Travel guide was OK at best. My expectations were very high for this and inside Versailles was crowded and loud. The outside gardens however were magnificent as was the Marie- Antoinette's Trianon.
The greatest tour in Versailles
, Jun 2019
Our tour guide Maëva was awesome, fun, knowledgeable. We were so glad to enjoy to see the 3 differents proprieties of Versailles. Marie Antoinette Hamlet by ourself to respect everybody rythm and interest outdoors the cute little beaver/ rat that they call Nutreas was to my oppinion an amazing attraction, my friends prefered the scenery and took pictures, the Palace of Versailles was guided by Maëva our tour guide, we have learned so much from her, she really helped us to understand history and avoiding the crowd with her magical technics and the time by ourself at the garden of Versailles is well set up to let us get some fresh air from the crowded Palace. You really need a guided tour inside the palace to get the most of the experience. We can see that our tour guide was really skilled and experienced at doing it! She will behave always in a fair and royal way to give the best service, her role Model Beyonce would be proud of her !
Just as expected!

The tour was everything guaranteed on the website. Completely satisfied. You had both free time and a guided tour.
A most unpleasant experience
, Jun 2019
This experience is not one I wish to repeat: We were dropped about 1km from our destination and when we got to what we thought would be the Trianon we were told it was a 20 minute walk. The toilets were miles away and had to be accessed before security. There was no time for this. When we proceed to the palace we had to wait to enter because of security requirements. Inside the palace the curtains were drawn so it was hard to see anything. Our guide raced passed the Hall of Mirrors as if it was not there. Our guide also talked incessantly and long and not alwasys to the point. My sister was put in a wheelchair as she does not walk well. Our guide managed to lose her at the end of the tour. I was sent to the garden by myself. Don't think you will see the large garden at Versailles. A small back section was fenced off with no flowers in the gardens - only low box hedges. Not worth looking at. Finally found my sister - but without help of guide. Not an enjoyable afternoon at all
