Skip the Line: Versailles Audio-Guided Small-Group Half-day with hotel pickup

Visiting Versailles is a must do when in Paris. Having a driver pick us up at our hotel was great, however, it was a little confusing as to who our tour guide was. We were dropped over with two other couples and they ended up being on a different tour than my friend and me. It also took us over 30 minutes to get in despite having a skip the line pass and with our time to return being at 2pm we didn’t have much time overall. We didn’t end up getting in until after 11:15, so we felt rushed with our time. Our guide was excellent and helped us navigate the logistics once inside with the audio portion. I wish we ended up doing a long tour to have more time in the gardens, but overall it was a good experience.

Picked up at our hotel right on time. Met tour guide right on time. Was inside Versailles within 30 minutes from time of meeting guide off site. Great experience. Would definitely recommend this tour!

The trip to Versailles and tour was awesome. The driver was awful. He would not take us to our hotel because "the traffic was too bad" and dropped us off two blocks from our hotel. The entire reason for private transfer from our hotel was to avoid this!! My husband is 80 years old. Also, when he stopped and insisted we get out, my favorite WHITE sweater fell out of the car as we were not prepared to get out when he stopped. It was totally ruined and stained with black all over it. I think these drivers should be held liable when not completing their jobs. We were tired from hours of walking, then had to walk to our hotel, plus we got turned around!

Driver was on time picking us up at hotel. Tour guide informative and helpful. Driver picking up post event was on time. Everything went great. We had a great time!

Beautiful day at beautiful Versailles. I highly recommend spending the extra money and getting a guide for half day tour.

The self guided tour is a great way to go at your own pace through this beautiful palace and grounds. If you just want to see the palace, the half day tour would work. If you want to experience the palace and grounds, you will need the whole day. Beware there is a small additional fee to use the petite train on the grounds.

My audio tour of Versailles was excellent. allowing us to move at our own pace and providing enough time to see the main castle as well as Marie Antoinette's smaller residence. I've been to lots of palaces. Versailles takes the cake, Pardon the pun. Being part of a tour group actually did allow us to avoid the line which was around the block even for people with tickets. It was also very convenient to be picked up and dropped off at our hotel. This was a great experience with absolutely no grief. I highly recommend it.

Beyond belief beautiful and full of history. Driver was knowledgeable of area and funny too. Few minor things: 1. we booked this tour because it would pick us up at our hotel and we would not have to meet tour guide at central spot in Paris, but ended up that the driver showed up at our door and then led us on a 3/4 mile walk to his car, stating he couldn't get in our street which wasn't true 2. booked full day tour so we'd have more time touring the palace and estate, but drove up with others who were only doing half-day. Our driver turned them over to tour guide and they got into the palace right away -b 30 minutes before we did. Our driver waited with us until our tour guide showed up, but he was late so we just had to stand around and waste time for almost 45 minutes! 3. Since we had full day tickets, we were allowed inside Grand and Petit Trianon. Other tour companies then pick you up at that end of the estates but we had to retrace our steps and go back to the Group B entrance gate and wait for our new driver at the restaurant there. Our morning driver did not have the name of the afternoon driver for us or a contact phone number for him, so we were a bit worried, but he did show up on time with a description of us provided him by our morning driver. He was not as knowledgeable about the area and traffic/construction issues and so we went round and round in Paris traffic for 40 minutes when we were only blocks away from our hotel. But he did apologize profusely but we were very nervous since we just made it back by 6:50 pm when we were told we would be home by 5:30 pm as we had another tour at 7 pm! Just made it. OK, but not worth the extra money for skip the line since we waited around anyway for a long time or for semi-private transportation as we ended up getting there before they opened up but then stood waiting around for our tour guide to show up he was tied up in traffic. Next time would just take a tour bus or the train. The crowds in the palace itself were horrible. with people pushing and there weer tons of steps. It is not at all considerate of handicapped people or even many benches to rest on for the elderly. While on the tour, iff you are short, you really can't see anything. Versailles is really worth the trip, but is not an activity or place for slower-moving, the elderly, people with mobility issues or claustrophobic people.

My favorite part of my trip to France. The only way to visit Versailles is with a full-day tour and the ticket to see the Trianon Marie Antoinette's residences as well. I appreciated the independence of the audio-guide and was able to explore and have lunch at my leisure. The palace and grounds are magnificent. Bring walking shoes!

Man this place was crowded, and hot ! Still the audo tour was great and we were able to understand exactly what we were looking at. Driver courteous and knowledgeable. The meeting place in Frankfurt was not particularly well marked and Cab driver had no idea where it was, others arriving commented about the same issue so allow a bit of extra time.
