Returns to original departure point
Claude Monet, the father of the Impressionist art movement of the late 1800s, lived and worked just outside of Paris in Giverny, where he spent his days indulging in his passion for botany and gardening. On this half-day tour from Paris, feast your eyes on his charming home, which sits on a large property made up of extensive gardens.

Your tour starts with departure by coach in either the morning or afternoon (depending on option selected when booking) from the city center. When you arrive at Giverny, take a walk through the front gardens and orchards with your guide, and gaze upon an array of vivid blooms (depending on the season). Then stroll over to the legendary water lily pond that so inspired Monet, and cross the oft-painted Japanese bridge. Enjoy the tranquil environment created by weeping willows and bamboo trees, and pose for photos in your own Impressionist-style landscape.

Skip any lines and head inside the house, which was painstakingly restored to its former glory after it was donated by Monet's son to the French Academy of Fine Arts. Your guide leaves you here to explore the kitchen, bedrooms, and other spaces on your own. Admire Monet's private art collection, including Japanese garden prints. Then wander into his studio and peruse the large souvenir shop, where you can purchase reproductions of Monet's paintings, pottery, and even flower seeds.

Your tour ends with the drive back to Paris in the comfort of your coach.

Easiest, fastest, best way to visit Giverney
JJLandrum
, Oct 2019
I’ve visited Giverney on my own before from Paris : subway, train, bus, walking. This experience was so much less taxing, and enriching. Our guide gave us nearly an hour of history and context on the journey. He walked us right to the entrance and through, skipping any line. Our orientation to the garden was quick and clear, leaving us time to see and explore and photograph alone. We left on time and returned exactly on time. I brought my mom, who thoroughly enjoyed and could not have done the more rigorous way.

Awesome tour!

The bus was very comfortable and the guides gave us interesting information along the way. Once we arrived the guided tour was amazing! Lots of good information from our guide and the opportunity to take as many pictures as we liked. He also gave us information on things to see in the village after the house tour. I would do this tour again!

Great Gardens/Boring Commentary

I paid extra for a guided tour. She droned on throughout the hour and a half drive putting my husband to sleep. Upon arrival she gave us the most minimal survey of what is where and left. The gardens were amazing but the guide sounded like she was reading from a very boring book.

If you don’t want to spend an entire day and want to experience a visit - this is a perfect tour - not rushed and you have plenty of time to enjoy the gardens - just plan accordingly if going during peak season.

A very convenient way to get to Monet’s Garden. The guide was excellent. The only draw back was the crowds, not the fault of the tour.

they were very late and we did not know where to meet exactly since the bus was super late and we were worried plus we had to queue up to get the real tickets which was confusing when there were nobody to help us at all!

Monet Home and garden self guided tour
Rosemary V
, Sep 2019
We took the half day tour. The tour is guided on the bus, the tour guide explains the history and interesting points of Monet and the village. When you get there, you walk the gardens and home and village on your own. This was fine for us, we thoroughly enjoyed it on our own without a guide in the gardens, and without the audio guide of the home. And it was only a half day. We would go back again, just wanted to get a taste. The village is charming, we stopped at a little cafe that gad some tables outside and got a crepe, and watched one of the workers tending the garden and picking raspberries, which he offered to us! Great day, would recommend

A beauty not to be missed

The gardens are stunning, even in September. I had no idea the house was filled with so much art. If possible, enjoy all the rooms. Monet was an avid collector, which I wasn’t aware of. Truly magical place.

Giverny and Monet's Home and Garden

We visited the garden and home in the morning. Fortunately we selected the morning and due to a French Bank Holiday the gardens were extremely crowded. The flowers and gardens did not disappoint. Everything was I imagined.

Excellent, but half-day not long enough!

Monet's Garden was absolutely breath-taking and very tranquil despite the crowds, and the House was a fantastic inside into his life. One of the most outstanding places we have ever been - what a shame we didn't have more time there!! Were able to take some amazing photos that we will treasure.
