Delve into Paris’s famously artistic quarters on a small-group walking tour. Make your way to the Pantheon in the afternoon to meet your knowledgeable guide, and enjoy a short stroll to the charming neighborhood of Saint-Germain-des-Prés in the city’s 6th arrondissement. Admire cafés, bookstores and unique storefronts as your guide shares stories of the famous musicians, poets and artists who called the area home throughout the decades.

Stop in at a charming local café and enjoy an assiette de charcuterie — a favorite Parisian lunch featuring an assortment of artisan cheeses, meats and pâtés. Purchase a glass of wine to accompany your meal if you like.

Continue on to the pleasant Place Dauphine — the oldest Square in Paris. Take part in a round of pétanque, a ball game favored throughout France in which opposing teams try to toss metal balls closest to a wooden marker. Think of it as a cross between horseshoe and bocce ball. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine as you learn the rules and techniques from your guide.

Next, stroll through Paris’ Latin Quarter and peruse the titles at the city’s first English bookstore. Your 3.5-hour tour concludes outside the famed Notre Dame Cathedral, where you can continue exploring on your own.

Rain rain go away

It rained all day. In the morning to avoid the rain, we went the Pantheon in the Latin Quarter. Then we met with our tour guide, a young man very knowledgeable and kind. We went on the long walk he had planned and listened attentively as we all got soaked. When we reached Café de Flore on Blvd Saint Germain, we parted our ways to have some food. I highly recommend this’s tour.

Excellent tour

I loved this tour. We stopped for a dessert at a pastry shop that had the France colors on the awning which is a sign of esteem in Paris. Wonderful treat. I would have liked to sit to enjoy it though along with some water. I also was not aware the tour would stop at a different spot than it started which caused a little stress for me a directionally challenged person but I did find my way.

Very worthwhile tour of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Latin Quarter. My tour guide, Arthur, went out of his way to make this an extensive review of the neighborhood. He was both friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Paris.

My husband and I were lucky enough to get a tour guide to ourselves. Tim was great - a wealth of information and an incredibly nice guy to spend the afternoon with. We loved being able to walk the street of Paris, and learn more about the city's incredible history. And ending the tour with bread, cheese, pastis and petonque was perfect.

Rafael was a good tour guide. He provided a lot of information about the areas we visited and we all had a very interesting conversation with him. The charcuterie sample platter was good too. We did not play a game of petanque, so this should be removed from the description of the tour.
