Visit Aruba’s most popular landmarks aboard a brightly colored converted school bus and enjoy the tropical island breeze through large open windows. Meet your guide at hotel pickup and listen to fascinating facts about the Caribbean island as you sip unlimited beverages (soda, rum punch, fruit punch and water) on board.

Your tour provides a closer look at attractions like Arashi Beach, the California Lighthouse and Tierra del Sol Country Club and Resort, located at Aruba’s northwest coast. Snap photos from your perch or disembark to stretch your legs.

Driving south along the island’s eastern coastline, you’ll visit Alto Vista Chapel, the ruins of the 19th-century Bushiribana gold mine and the remains of the Natural Bridge — a limestone formation that collapsed in 2005.

Around midday, enjoy a barbecue lunch served at La Granja restaurant.

Get a glimpse of the mysterious Ayo rock formations before heading to Arikok National Park to see the Amerindian petroglyphs at Guadirikiri Caves. Take a 15-minute guided tour inside one of the caves, whose two chambers are illuminated by sunlight streaming down through holes in the ceiling.

Arriving at Aruba’s southern end, finish with 45 minutes of free time at Baby Beach. Swim in the shallow waters of the tranquil lagoon; if you wish to further explore the marine life, snorkel gear is available to rent (own expense).

Your 6.5-hour tour ends with hotel drop-off in the late afternoon.

A good tour of the island
, Jul 2022
So, this was a nice tour, but not exactly as advertised. Tour timing info not well coordinated with Pelican, and we got our pickup window that morning. Turns out we were the first pickup, so Viktor (bus driver/tour guide) showed up at our resort at 9:05. He seemed a bit torqued about us not being ready at 9:05 (I was, but the rest of my party took a few minutes) and we boarded the 32 year old school bus by 9:10. We then spent the next hour or so stopping at the other resorts picking up passengers. Some resorts we hit more than once. Somewhere between 10:00 and 10:30, the tour was finally underway. Viktor changed from bus driver into tour guide, describing what the tour would entail and clarifying the drinks/lunch. Drinks were not unlimited, but two per person for the tour. Tour stops were 10 minutes to exit the bus, take pictures, and climb back on the bus. After covering the logistics, he started describing the more affluent neighborhoods we drove through (a little jealous?) on our way to the first stop, the California Lighthouse. A nice view on the north end of the island, but it was being painted during our visit. Oh, and it'll cost you $5 to climb it. Next stop Alto Vista Chapel, with Viktor describing the markers leading up to the chapel. Our next stop was the Natural Bridge, which included passing by the Bushiribana gold processing center (twice). Unfortunately, the Natural Bridge collapsed a few years back, but still a beautiful setting. They have a little tourist shop, if you needed a quick beverage and $2 restrooms. Next was a quick drive by of Ayo Rock Formation. Spoiler alert - King Kong is the answer to Viktor's trivia question. Next was lunch at La Granja (BBQ and Peruvian Chicken) - about 25-30 minutes. The food was pretty good, and short lines at the restroom. Next stop Guadirikiri Caves in Arikok National Park, driving by the Windmills that provide about 20% of the islands power (the other 80% is mostly fuel oil). The caves aren't very deep, but plenty of places for a good pic or two. And, yes there are bats. After about 25-30 minutes, we headed to our last tour stop, Baby Beach, at the south end of the island. A great spot to go the beach, despite being surrounded by a refinery, phosphate mining and the island's only jail. After an hour at Baby Beach, we climbed back on the bus, and traveled back toward our resort. Since we arrived at our resort around 2:45, the total tour was a little under 6 hours, but we did cover most of the island. Despite being an old bus, without the windows, lack of AC wasn't an issue. Many of the roads we drove on were dirt, and definitely had a backwoods (read small) feel to them. Could have used a little more time at some of the early stops, but otherwise a decent outing.

James was our tour guide for the day and he was amazing! He was able to give the guide in multiple languages and even turned around to get my glasses that fell out of the window (my fault). He was kind enough to show us local bars and hotspots after the tour. 100% recommend :)

I'd highly recommend this tour. Once we had everyone picked up we went from one attraction to the next as Victor gave us all the history, facts and information. We had a really fun group of people in the bus so that added to the fun too. The caves were fascinating with some bats flying around... Was great to see so much in a short day! We enjoyed this tour and Victor was the best!

Busy, Bumpy but Fun
, May 2019
Ride was an old school bus with windows removed.Island is always windy, but it helps keep the heat down. Terrain in area is very bumpy, so be prepared. Guide/Driver James was very nice and supplied lots of info about the area as we drove. Stops at various attractions were brief, but long enough to see everything. Driver supplied soft drinks and rum punch at several stops. First stop, Lighthouse was interesting but we did not climb to top. Scenery is incredible. Stop at Chapel was brief but short walk through the bike trails reveals many types of cactus Visit to North Shore of island was like visiting the moon. Tour through cave was interesting. Stop at Natural bridge allowed restroom break and scenic photos. Trip to AYO rock formations- saw 1000 year old cave drawings. Lunch stop at restaurant. Food was mediocre chicken, ribs, rice, etc. Opportunity to change into swimsuit given during lunch break. National park road was very bumpy, but again lots of great scenery. Saw windmills, wild goats and donkeys in national park. Final stop at Baby beach included about 1 hour to swim. (got sunburned from that) All in all a busy, but enjoyable trip. James was a great guide/driver.
Excellent tour
