Great tour guide! Very informative trip! Wouldn’t recommend for people with bad knees. Lots of steps, which we didn’t mind. Loved it!

Monte Alban is a must see!

We booked this tour the night before and found the whole experience very easy and convenient. Monte Alban was amazing and our tour guide, Antonio, was a wealth of knowledge. His English is excellent, although sometimes difficult to understand with the accent plus face mask. Regardless, we leaned so much about this incredible place, it’s history, and inhabitants. I highly recommend this tour!

Cool place, average guide

The ruins themselves were quite amazing and really enjoyed the mountain and seeing them in person. The guide we had through Viator seemed a bit jaded. He has been doing these tours for 40 years and it was obvious. He had little to no excitement or enthusiasm, he didn’t have any sense of humor and was not very engaging. He was telling us so much at the beginning of the tour about stuff unrelated to monte alban — it was cool and interesting to know but he lost my attention because of all the detail that he was giving in a non engaging way. If someone asked a question, he took 10 minutes to answer it, and at times seemed even annoyed with the question. He’s clearly extremely knowledgeable about the culture and history but was going through the motions.

An excellent cultural experience in Oaxaca

Our guide, Antonio, with 40 years experience and Zapotec heritage, provided a tremendous amount of information about the site. The small size of the group made for excellent opportunities for Q&A. He was also sensitive to our adjusting to hear and altitude in the pace of the visit.

Our tour with Gabriel was fantastic! The pick-up was easy and on time. There were only 10 people in our group, which was great. Gabriel was very knowledgeable and even took us on a path that was away from the crowds most of time. We highly recommend this half day tour.

Our tour guide may have been the finest I have ever had. He had not just learned the subject to become a guide, he was a part of the study of the place. Phenomenal!

Good tour guide. Big group

Good tour guide who was very thorough and provided lots of details. It was a big group of about 20 people so limited opportunity to ask questions. There was not enough time to walk around to explore the ruins after the guided tour. The tour bus did not drop us anywhere near our hotel and we had to walk.

Great half day tour to Monte Albán!

Our tour guide, Antonio, was very knowledgeable and shared important information. He always made sure we were comfortable and reminded us of the toilets. He spoke English and Spanish. I would recommend splitting up the groups by language, because he had to translate everything in English and Spanish and overall we lost time. Transportation was on time in pick up and drop off, and it was also very comfortable.
