Join up with your local guide at the prearranged meeting location in downtown Nassau. Then, walk together to your first stop, Smuggler's Beer Garden on George Street. Here, get your first taste of real Caribbean rum and cast your mind back some 300 years, when unruly pirates roamed the streets.

Continue to three more local spots, where you’ll fill up on rum cocktails along with conch and lobster fritters, rum-infused white chocolate and other regional delicacies.

Along the way, uncover some of the city’s lesser-known sights and hear stories about the island’s rum-running, swashbuckling past. See, too, the historical buildings that played a role in the profiteering business as storage for liquor about to be transported overseas.

Make your final stop of the tour at John Watling’s Distillery. Walk around the Buena Vista Estate, where the distillery is situated, and learn about the production of rum as well as the 17th-century pirate for whom the distillery is named.

Tastings include (subject to change with notice):
• 6 rum tastings
• 3 rum cocktails
• Bahamian conch and lobster fritters
• Rum-infused bonbons

A fun rum walking tour with the best guide ever!
, Aug 2022
We had the best time on this tour! We have been to the Bahamas dozens of times and thought we had seen everything and done everything. We were looking for something off the beaten path so why not do a rum walking tour which didn’t just include drinking delicious rum, which of course it did, it also included learning more about the Bahamian culture cigars, art and chocolate. But the main reason it was so good was because our guide was the absolute best we could’ve hoped for. Net was so much fun and personable, it made it even our experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend if you take this tour, which everyone should, that you request Net because you will not regret it. Thank you so much for making an amazing day in the Bahamas for us

John Watlings drink was the best. The samples were good too. Things did not seem to be very organized.

Our Tour Guide Ridge was awesome! The tour was filled with excitement and laughter. We enjoyed the historical background of the Bahamas, and the drinks and food were just the icing on the cake.
Walk away from this tour
, Jul 2022
Didn’t spend enough time at distillery learning its history. We were rushed through it. Plus, we were given chicken wings instead of Bahamian food like conch fritters, which were available. The balance of the tour was fairly rushed and forgettable.

A must tour if in Nassau
, Jun 2022
This experience was fantastic. We sampled rum, chocolate, rum cake, and visited a cigar establishment while listening to stories about the history of the buildings we visited. We talked about the past and present state of the area. We experienced beautiful scenery as we walked to each destination. Our tour guide Mike was very knowledgeable of the history and had a pulse on current affairs of the island. We finished our tour with a mini mixology tutorial with a rum of our choice. Highly recommend this tour!

The Rum and Food tour was so much fun! One of the highlights of a great trip to Nassau. Our tour guide Michael was a rock star and made it an unforgettable experience! We loved the variety of places we got to go and the background history of the locations that Michael shared while on the tour. Don’t miss this excellent experience when you’re in the Bahamas!
Best way to spend an afternoon
, May 2022
If you have any interest in Rum, I highly recommend this tour. The guide we had, Mikey, made it one of the more memorable afternoons on our trip. The tour brought us to some unique and charming shops that we wouldn't have found without it. The drinks were great, and so was the food. This is a really well put together experience! If you do any tour, I recommend this one!

A must do walking tour
, May 2022
Mikey and Ridge were very knowledgeable and a lot of fun listening to them tell stories and historical events about the island. The walking tour is a small group which is great and visiting different locations from rum tasting, food sampling, cigar making and creating a cocktail. We even meet people on the same boat and ended up becoming friends abd hanging out on the ship!

Great tour, fun and easy! The drinks and food were delicious and the stops were amazing. Got to see some cool places that I wouldn't have gone to see otherwise.
More rum less cocktails but that’s a personal preference
, Apr 2022
It would have been sensible for the John Watlings distillery to have offered rum tastings prior to being given the opportunity to buy rum. Although the cocktail there was divine we had no samples there unfortunately and it was hard to taste elsewhere. Our guide Net however was lovely and had very good local knowledge and we did enjoy hearing the history of rum in the Bahamas and doing our cocktail mixing - the conch fritters at end were lovely
