Make your own way to the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park at the time that is convenient for you.

Your self-guided tour can begin anywhere you like in the 100-acre park. Take a look around the USS Alabama and get a feel for life on a battleship during World War II. As you walk around the ship, you can peak into the kitchen, doctor's quarters, radio room, and more. The ship served as a set for the 2016 movie USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage, which starred actor Nicolas Cage.

Next, check out the USS Drum, the oldest American submarine on display to the public. The submarine was deployed in the Pacific theater, sinking several Japanese warships and providing reconnaissance at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Continue to the Aircraft Pavilion to view the 28 historic airplanes and military vehicles on display.

Other wars receive recognition at the military park. To honor the 100th anniversary of WWI, the Great War exhibit opened in March 2016, and memorials throughout the park include the Korean Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, the Fallen Hero’s 9/11 Memorial, and a monument for Military Service dogs.

Check the calendar for special events such as historical reenactments performed by the Living History team every other month.

Do not miss this, if you are within 100 miles of Alabama.

This self-guided tour was marvelous. What a display of American ingenuity even back in WWII. Battle guns must have rocked that grand ship, but the engineers that designed it thought of every aspect. The best floating museum. We have seen three, this is a MUST see.

We live in Arizona, here for a few weeks. I heard that the SS Alabama is not to miss. We spent three hours going up and down metal ladders. We saw the BIG GUNS, the entire deck and Bridge, then below the kitchen and mess hall. Do not miss this sight. The United States was a powerhouse in WWII. Hopefully, we can continue our military. Thanks to the City of Mobile, AL for this outstanding military museum!

Seeing how life on board day to day was for sailors. Being a veteran myself and being onboard a ship it brought back mane memories 😁
USS Alabama must do
, Feb 2020
This ship is truly incredible. On board I just pictured myself living the life they had to go thru out at sea. Sitting behind those guns was awesome. My heart goes out to the men and women who have served our country then and now. To be able to step on board a ship like the USS Alabama and the USS Drum submarine puts everything in a little better perspective on the living conditions they endured to protect our country. If anyone ever has a chance to see these great ships I highly recommend it.

Very interesting and very much like things were on a battleship. Hosts and volunteers were very helpful and the movies were great.

My grandchildren enjoyed exploring the battleship and the submarine. I think the quote from my grandson says it all, I really have an appreciation for what sailors went through during WWII. It is nice that future generations can gain an insight into what their forefathers experienced to build and protect the country we have today!
