Your tour begins in the middle of Moab where you’ll meet you professional guide, who will help you get comfortably situated inside of the off-road, 4WD vehicle. Enjoy the 30-mile (48km) drive from Moab to Canyonlands National Park, where you’ll explore the popular Island in the Sky District with its spectacular desert scenery.

Start off atop a mesa with views looking out over the horizon before your guide deftly maneuvers the switchbacks of Shafer Trail. On this section of the 100-mile (161-km) White Rim Road Loop, you’ll make stops at spectacular Gooseneck Overlook and famous Musselman Arch, and photograph vistas of the Colorado River and the view from Thelma and Louise Point.

In addition to the popular lookouts, your expert guide will take you to spots that aren’t as frequently visited, where you’ll find everything from ancient Pueblo rock art to vertical views down the canyons. You’ll learn the history of the Pueblo people who inhabited the Four Corners area, and aside from the culture and history lessons, your guide will also explain the geology of the red rock canyons before you.

When you stop for a break to take photos, venture out on one of the short trails that leave from many of the viewpoints; you’ll get a different perspective and angle for photographing the canyons.

When this Canyonlands tour from Moab is over, your guide will return you to the middle of Moab to the spot where the tour began.

A bit more excitement than we expected...

The tour was interesting, and the scenery beautiful. Our group included the tour operator, my husband and myself, and another couple that we did not know in a Toyota Land cruiser that had 296,000 miles on the odometer. Our tour operator took us on the tour which included unpaved, 4 wheel roads in the northeast corner of the park that had hairpin turns and beautiful views. Unfortunately, toward the end of the tour, the vehicle stopped and lost power steering and brakes. Fortunately, at that point in the tour, we were on relatively flat land and a couple of other vehicles stopped to help us so the operator was able to call for assistance. After 1 1/2 hours, the mechanic arrived, quickly determined the cause (a wire had jiggled loose) and we drove back to town. We were dropped off and thanked for taking the tour.

I loved the beautiful scenery! I did not like that our driver did not wear his mask but 5% of the tour when all 4 passengers wore theirs at all times in the vehicle. The driver had a cough, sneezing and kept his window down. With the restrictions on docial distancing I was surprised that the passengers were seating shoulder to shoulder.
Amazing Tour

A most beautiful and amazing tour inside Canyonlands National Park. Our guide, Tyler was very interesting, sharing lots of stories as we drove through the park. Parts of the tour were not for those with a fear of heights. For the rest of us, it was scenery that we have never seen before and really enjoyed.

He Provided us a ton of information, answered all our questions, and kept us entertained the whole 4 hours.
