Our smart bike tour was fun, informative, intimate, and just amazing. We saw so much more of the city than we would have seen on our own and had a lot of fun doing so. We arrived just before our departure time, 0900, and were promptly greeted by Carlos, who already had our bikes lined up. Our tour guide, Akino, arrived shortly thereafter. Another couple was supposed to go on the tour with us. The first thing that impressed me was that Akino and Carlos worked with the lady for almost an hour to help her become more comfortable on the bike. They didn’t rush her or treat her like an inconvenience. They even brought another bike to see if she would become less fearful. In the end, she decided not to go but the fact that they worked patiently with her inspired confidence that they cared about everyone’s safety and comfort. Akino is a certified tour guide and therefore, very knowledgeable. My husband and I both speak and understand Spanish but the other gentleman on the tour did not. Akino spoke English and Spanish with us, which was great. He shared a lot of history and told a story about each place, really bringing the point of interest and its characters to life. We made many stops, including those along the malecón, to include the devils’s cave, a cliff with a cliff diver, the Pedro Infante monument, and many more. But, some of my favorite places were in Centro, like the Catedral Basilica de Mazatlán, the Angela Peralta Theater, and the picturesque Plaza de Machado. We even went into the Angela Peralta Theater and sat in the cool air for a few minutes! Akino knew that my husband was interested in going to a seafood palapa and stopped at one on our way back. We rested and enjoyed coconut water in the shell and the pulp, of course. This was a personal touch that probably wouldn’t have been possible with a larger group but very much appreciated. Because my husband and I basically travel to eat, we ran our list of restaurants and taquerias by Akino, who gave us honest input and recommended a few places he likes. At the end of the tour, we told Akino we were interested in a couple of other sightseeing activities. He contacted people right away and helped us make it happen. This bike tour was my husband’s idea and I am so happy I didn’t let my initial trepidation about getting on an electric bicycle deter me. SO MUCH FUN. Do it.

Fantastic tour. Because of a mix up in the meeting area ( not the tour company's fault) missed starting with the group. However the owner Manuel when contacted came to meet me and gave me a personal tour which was fantastic. Saw lot of sights including cliff divers, historical buildings, fish market, the cathedral etc. Manuel frequently checked on me as we rode through traffic and people so always felt perfectly safe. This was one of the best tours I've ever been on.

The Mazatlan Smart Bike tour was excellent. Moses and Christina were great guides, both friendly and professional. I had never used a Smart Bike before, but felt very safe. The E bikes added and extra element of fun to the tour. Mazatlan has many different areas (old town, el malecon, etc.) and the Smart bike tour was a great way to get acquainted with the city and it's history. I highty recommend this tour.
