Private Fishing Tour in Cabo San Lucas with Food and Drink

While we did catch fish (marlin and mahi-mahi), this outfitter lost all credibility upon return to the dock. We made it incredibly clear (in several conversations…no language barrier) that we wanted to take everything we caught back home (via the awesome filet, freeze, pack, business Gricelda’s). When we got to the harbor, the crew skirted us to a side dock, and threw all our fish up to be filleted and sold to…who the heck knows. We stood there saying “no no no” and had to fight for the 1/3 that we eventually talked them into allowing us to have. TOTAL shakedown. In asking 3 other outfitters - this was totally NOT the norm or customary. We would have shared if asked. Choose a different company!!!

Very poor communication. We asked to fish in the Pacific, but toured the Cortez side for the first two hours. After no action we demanded to go to the Pacific side. Crew knew no English - had to use Google Translate. We repeatedly asked to use real fish versus lures - after our 5th request, they finally put on live bait but then would not troll. We asked him to tie the fish to the hook so we could troll. We sat in one spot for a half hour before he started to troll. We then caught 3 Dorado (released the small one) and a marlin (we released) all caught with real fish except one Dorado on a lure. Had multiple other hits on the live bait that we didn’t hook. This was a frustrating experience because of the communication (even with Google translate) and we feel the crew was being lazy. Captain looked discussed with our $100 tip. We have fished multiple times in Cabo and other parts of Mexico and this was the poorest charter crew service we have received. We did catch fish. The 28’ boat was clean. Not all boats caught fish that day, so we were one of the lucky.

I want to give a big shout to my crew on on my fishing trip on 7/14. I went with my 2 daughters and they had a blast. My oldest daughter caught some tuna and my youngest caught some little fish, which was big to her. The crew helped in every way possible to make sure we where taken care of. I will book again.

Amazing experience! The crew was extremely experienced & friendly! Very attentive to our needs. Cold drinks & beer with lunch was great! We caught 3 tunas, 1 dorado 1 marlin! Definitely worth every penny! Will return in the fall & booking with them again!!

I landed my first two striped marlin on this charter. The captain and Gilbert were excellent very professional. I would recommend them to anybody.

We had a great time with Captain Juan! He and his crew were amazing! They worked so hard and did everything they could to find us the fish. We made great memories!!

After closing the marina the day before due to weather, we rescheduled for the next morning. I’m glad we did! From the get go, the communication between us and Cabo Sports Fishing Crew was great. Captain Juan would answer any question within minutes. We arrived at the dock shortly before 6am and First Mate Gilbert introduced himself while Captain Juan went for gas. We were on the way out of the marina before 6am. By 7am, we’d already landed a 8ft 135+lb Striped Marlin. We trolled around for another hour looking for but my Wife was feeling sick. It was pretty choppy out there. So we headed in early. On the way in Juan quickly brought the boat to a sudden stop. They had spotted a school of Striped Marlin from the upper deck. Gilbert jumped into action and quickly put a live bait on a line and cast it right in the middle of the school. Fish #2 on! After a 30min battle that felt like two hours, we caught and released a 9fter. Even after coming in earlier, I felt like we got our money’s worth. I could only imagine how well we would’ve done if we’d stayed out there longer. There’s dozens of people trying to sell you fishing excursions in Cabo but I would never book with anyone else other than Captain Juan and the Blue Marlin. The old saying “You get what you pay fo”, couldn’t be more true in this case. Juan and Gilbert were amazing. I look forward to booking another trip very soon.

The winds were to bad to go out on Tuesday so we were postponed til Wednesday but it was well worth it. We had four of us, we each caught a yellow fin tuna, and shared in catching 2 striped marlins. We saw porpoises, sea lions, and a humpback whale up close. Thanks to the Blue Tail crew. Would definitely use them again.
