Your afternoon pub tour begins at St. Paul's, where you will meet your guide and set off for the first stop of your tour. As you walk, check out city attractions like St. Paul's Cathedral and the bustling Fleet Street. Pass the site of a Shakespearean playhouse, then pop into the art nouveau Blackfriars for a drink. Grab a pint (own expense) and enjoy colorful stories from this neighborhood's banking community.

Next, head down Fleet Street, flush with pubs and gin palaces to service the journalists and literary greats of the day. Stop at a proper London boozer for a civilized drinking experience. Buy yourself a delicious local ale (or two), admire the authentic medieval decor, and enjoy the buzz as regulars and newcomers fill up the wooden tables surrounding the horseshoe bar.

Continue along Fleet Street, the former stomping grounds of Charles Dickens, who once resided in Furnival’s Inn (now Holborn Bars). Visit a 17th-century pub that was a favorite of Dickens and fellow writers Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Alfred Lord Tennyson. Sip on a delicious beer and cider (not included) and soak up the literary history of the place.

Your tour ends at the edge of Covent Garden with plenty of time (and insider information) to continue the fun at another local pub.

Met at the required meeting point, the tour guide was on site and early Dave made himself known to us, we were a family party of three, total group of six which was ideal in these times. The tour guide was very knowledgeable at each location we stopped at and the pubs we stopped in were full of past and present history. Length of tour 3.5 hours was ideal and for the cost reasonable. My wife and I and my eldest daughter (27) fully enjoyed the tour and both the guide and the party participated well throughout. We have visited London many times and walked past some of the sites we visited as just never new they were there and what history was and is behind them. There is a lot of walking but plenty of stops to have a refreshment and rest the legs. A well worth short tour to take when visiting London.

Thanks for joining us, and keeping the wheels turning! We’re running maximum groups of 6 at the current time to maintain safety, and to keep supporting the pubs and our guides in these challenging times. Glad you enjoyed the pubs and the quirky history along the way. Cheers!

Rob was wonderfully entertaining and so knowledgeable about the history of the pubs as well as the the area in which the pub was located. You definitely must do this tour if ever in London.

My sister and I took the tour on March 10th and even with all the walking - and, okay, maybe a pint or two of beer - and drizzling rain, we had an enjoyable time. Our guide Freddie knew a thing or three about London pubs and the dizzying assortment of beers, stouts, ales and even gin and shared his knowledge with the eight of us on the tour in an entertaining yet factual way. As he did his college thesis on historical pubs (I think I got that right) he was the perfect man for the job. I highly recommend this fun, factual tour; just remember to pace yourself...

Had a terrific time. Chris was informative and made the trip so enjoyable. One thing though, I tried to get to what I thought the meeting place early. No one new where the spot was. I asked the businesses up and down the street with no luck. I then rang my son and in turn he rang your office for directions. Your web site nominates no 30, this was a cafe and they also new nothing about the tour. However once again the tour was great and I will recommend it to my friends.

Excellent tour with a great guide. We got a nice bit of actual history along our route before we went into all the pubs as we passed particular landmarks. As a craft beer lover from the US, it challenged me to go outside of my element and experience UK cask ales and the guide was excellent for making suggestions for that. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy an afternoon with new people from all around. I went alone and am not that great at making conversation with people at times, but it was very easy to blend right into the group and have a chat.
