Lake Como and Bellagio Day Trip from Milan

Beautiful scenery and a must see. But guide tour was useless. Hard to understand in English. Not much information during tour. Made us wait to get on boat and all other tours went ahead of us even though we were there before. Ended up stuck inside boat as there was no more space on other levels. She kept saying George Clooney to get our attention but had not much to say. We saw other tours with guides much more interesting and explaining more things on the micro to their guests. The site of lake como is amazing and a must see but not with viator. Not worth the price they charged. Would have been half price on our own and with no explanations anyways.

Lake como is breathtaking and amazing. Well worth the drive. Favorite tour of Italy. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful day with enough time in each location to walk around, shop a little and get a bite to eat.

Visiting Lake Como & Bellagio itself was marvelous, very worthwhile and recommendable: atmosphere, flora, fauna, villas, mountains, boat rides (a bit overcrowded), etc. (hence my 5* rating)! However, I personally found the group TOO big and moreover translation in English AND Spanish is very time-consuming. The technical malfunction of the audio for a short time period was unfortunate.

Disorganized from start to finish. Force you to buy overpriced masks but don’t enforce wearing them. Overcrowded boat with no room to even stand let alone sit. Could not hear the guide - headsets would not work. Big big group with no attention given to whether everyone could hear or follow what was being said. Disappointing!

This has been the worst experience of my life. I have given trip advisor and the guide's company SEVERAL opportunities to resolve this over the past 3 weeks and there has been no resolution. Since I have been more than fair to give them a chance to fix it and they haven't, I've decided it's only fair that I warned others. The group was in Bellagio, the final leg. We took a 1 hour bus to get to Lake Como then a 2 hour ferry to get to Bellagio and it was time to go back. As on the way there, we got on the ferry to go from Bellagio back to Lake Como. We got on with our very large group (maybe more than 50 people to a single tour guide? Who was giving the tour in English and Spanish at the same time. Not only was he hard to understand, he was always far away and quiet). We were told to sit wherever we wanted. Me and my partner chose to sit on the edge of the boat so we could enjoy their views where the rest of the group opted to sit inside in the AC. No big deal because we were told we could sit wherever we wanted. We docked which was normal because we had docked every 10-15 minutes on the way there, so we didn't think anything was out of the ordinary. Things started to get weird when we stayed docked for about 15 minutes. Me and my partner got worried and checked on the inside where the rest of the group was to see if everything was okay. No one was there. We ran down to find a crew member and asked if they knew anything about our tour. We were told the tour had gotten off about 10 minutes before, gotten on another boat, and left. LEFT. We are 3 hours from where we are staying, we have a giant group in this tour. The tour guide just got on another boat without a simple head count first and LEFT. We are stranded in a foreign country we've never been to, with a language we do not know, and we have no idea what to do. I end up calling the customer service who told me that the guide did indeed leave us and we should try to take a bus to a different island who could get us a train back to Milan (where the tour started). I asked if there was any more they could do to help us as we were stranded and do not speak Italian and they told us to call trip advisor when we got back for more help and hung up on us. Great! We found a group of men who were staff at the dock and one of them luckily spoke English. They told us basically our only option was to allow one of their men (we are two young women by the way) to drive us to a port 15 minutes away where we can hopefully catch the last boat of the day to get us back to Lake Como and then we could get on a train from there. So now me and my partner are in a stranger's car on the way to who knows where. Luckily we got on this boat and navigated to the train after and made it home safe (long story short). In this time, despite having provided my phone number and email when signing up for the tour, and having full service the entire time, my guide nor anyone else from the company reached out to us AT ANY POINT TO THIS DAY to see if we were okay or made it home safe. Complete negligence. We called trip advisor as soon as we made it back safe to explain what happened. They took our concerns very seriously and told us they would do everything they could and we'd hear from them in 48 hours. 4 days later when I haven't heard from them, I called again. They apologized and said they would "expedite the process for me" as I was very urgent to hear results. They suggested a full refund, not me, but that was exactly what I was expecting given we were left behind by our guide who never looked back. This continued for 3 full weeks. I called a total of 7 times where I was put on hold multiple times in a call for 30-40 minutes each time, costing me HOURS on HOURS trying to get this resolved. Each time I was told "they're doing the best they can" and that they will expedite this for me. Finally I get the news that "based on the circumstances, I do not qualify for a refund for this trip" because it is "not the tour guide's fault." So here we are! Just wanted to warn anyone who wants to go on this over crowded tour where there is a good chance you'll get left because no one is paying attention because there are too many people. Save your time and money (of course the money we paid to get on the boat and train to get home aren't being refunded either!) because of the stress of all of this. And at the end, no one will help you and waste all your time.

We went in July and it was HOT! But still so worth it! Bus ride into Como where we had time to explore then long boat ride on lake como til we reached Bellagio where we had a few hours to explore as well. Our tour guide Marion was great! Just expect a crowded boat ride and to sweat but the views are worth it!

We really enjoyed the trip. Everything ran very smooth and the tour guide was really helpful. Plenty free time to enjoy and stroll around. The boat trip was great. Bus to como very comfortable, air conditioning and USB port to charge phones etc. I recommend this trip for sure!

Really beautiful day on Lake como. However I feel like I would have gotten the same experience taking the train/ferry from Milan without the tour group. If you value having someone organize transportation for you the tour is worth it.

This tour group of 49 people (just the bus I was on)was way too much. I expected a smaller group of max 20 people. It was at times chaotic for the lovely Ciara to control such a massive crowd. Some info could have been emailed prior with regards to the itinerary, meeting points in each place, contact numbers etc. Also getting on the ferry to Bellagio was ridiculous, a mass of people from different tours all trying to ‘assemble’ in one area in the midday heat. And then once on the ferry, it was packed… people were sitting on the stairs and anywhere they could find a place. Suppose it was peak season, however it could have been controlled better or the tour group could have gotten a private boat / ferry for the amount of people/ groups they were hosting. Long day, lots of tourists crowded and herded around like cattle. Como and Bellagio is beautiful, so maybe choose a less ‘busier’ time to go.
