️Nusa Penida by Private Boat - Snorkeling 4 spots, Swim with Mantas + Land Tour

One of the things I wanted to do most while in Bali was snorkel with the giant manta rays. I booked this trip as it had the best and most reviews and I can see why. I stayed in Ubud which is about 30-45 minutes away from the departure point of Sanur. I was able to arrange pick up and drop off from Ubud through the tour group which eased a lot of stress for me. As you get there, you can wait at Nelayan Sanur Bay, depending on how early you arrive. You can enjoy a delicious breakfast right on the beach, and they accept card payments. Once everyone in the group arrived, we had to take a smaller boat to the speed boat moared a little off the beach as there was no space to back the boat up to. The boat I was on was the Sanjaya and the guides/divers were Budi (certified free diver) and Wayan Rai (master diver). The ride from Sanur towards Nusa Penida was great. I had never been on a speed boat before and I loved it. As we neared the island, Budi gave an overview of the days plan. He did explain that the swell in Manta Bay was strong so there could be a possibility that we wouldnt be able to go. Once we got closer, you could definitely see the swell was too strong. I really appreciate that Budi and the captain of the Sanjaya decided that the safety of the passengers was greater and thus we moved to a different snorkeling spot on the north side of Nusa Penida. Now, I am comfortable in a pool but am by no means a swimmer. I loved that they provided the regular live vests instead of the blow up ones. Since I was the weakest swimmer out of all the people on the boat, I definitely stuck to Wayan Rai like gum. He was very calm and made sure I was okay as I would start to panic. The location we went to had the clearest water I've ever seen and so many fish! It was magical! I love that Budi also took video and pictures with a gopro so there was no need for me to worry about capturing the moment either. After going to 2 different snorkeling spots, we started the island tour. There were 13 of us total and we were all split across 3 cars. First on the list was lunch. We headed to Green Kubu which had an infinity pool and the Gate of Penida which has a fantastic view of the ocean. After lunch we headed to Broken Beach and Angel Billabong. These two viewpoints had stunning views. There is a bit of a walk from the parking to the views so make sure to wear comfortable shoes. The last viewpoint we went to was Kelingking Beach. The pictures really do not do it justice. After finishing the island tour, we got back on the boat for the final snorkeling location. I was all pooped out from the whole day, so I opted to stay on the boat, but I'm told it was the best location we had went to for snorkeling. All in all, I think the trip was a great addition to my Bali trip and I'm so thankful to Budi, Wayan Rai and the staff of the Sanjaya for making sure everything went great.

Awesome day! The snorkeling was exceptional, lunch was great at a scenic spot and the land tour ticked all the boxes. David and Nimo were great, friendly, they did an amazing job making sure everyone was comfortable and taking incredible photos.

Diving with the manta was amazing also kellingking is a very spiritual spot and broken beach is breathtaking..thumbs up all the way.

Had a fantastic day with Budi and Wayan Rai as our guides. Best experience snorkelling we’ve had with quality gear.

It was windy day and the wave was pretty hard but the kudos to the captain and our awesome tourguide and certified divers, Nyoman!! he’s very helpful and attentive through out the trip both ocean and land trip! amazing snorkeling experience! the pick up service to our hotel also arranged smoothely. Mr.Lan our driver also very friendly. Nyoman is definitely recommend tour guide especially if you want to go snorkeling or diving!! he’s the best!

Good 1 day trip around Nusa Penida. We got to snorkle at multiple great sites and also swim with the manta rays (saw 3 or 4 manta). The snorkeling sites were also really good, saw manu schools of fish close to the surface. The water was a bit chilly, you may need a wet suit. The boat ride was about 45mins one way, you may need to bring sea sick pill if you have sea sickness. Land tour at Nusa Penida was also well organised, with picturesque lunch venue and multiple look out points. It ended with another snorkel before heading back to bali Our guides Luffy and David were fantastic! They swam with us on the snorkeling tours and made sure we were safe. They provide snorkles/fins and life vest if you need. They bring with them a buoy for anyone who wants to hold on too.

The crew was excellent! Gede and Nemo took absolutely good care of all their passengers .. Gede was informative as he was humorous . Nemo was fabulous with the non swimmers , one of them being me by staying close while in the water and leading me to the marine life while assuring me I was safe at all times . Despite my life jacket he ensured there was always a floating ring with me . The 4 snorkelling spots were beautiful as well as the drive to the tourist spots . Will definitely recommend to friends !

The snorkeling with manta rays was probably the highlight of our day! So lucky to see them. Budi was our guild and he was amazing! Definitely recommend!

Great experience from Budi and the team. One of the few trips i have been where everything promised is completed 100%. Great professionals and made our trip more fun. Budi had excellent attitude and great english skills and made some amazing photos. I would recommend to everybody!
