Return Details

Returns to original departure point
Your tour departs from the Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre; tours depart every 15 to 30 minutes, and your ticket is valid for any departure on the day you select.
Climb aboard a specialized ice explorer, an enormous, rugged vehicle built to handle the glacial terrain. As you travel through the largest icefield in the Canadian Rockies, listen to your guide's informative commentary. Pass sights such as the Weeping Wall, Crowfoot Glacier, Peyto Lake, and Bow Lake on what is widely considered one of Canada's most scenic drives.
At the Athabasca Glacier, hop out and walk along the glacier, where you can even fill up your water bottle with pure, pristine snowmelt.
On the return trip, stop at the Glacier Skywalk for refreshments and walk along the glass-bottom walkway out over the cliff's edge. Then, back to the ice explorer for the final drive back to the Discovery Center and a return to your vehicle.

Glacier is about 2 hours away from Banff. The boarding point is maintained very well. Clean washrooms and things available to eat. From boarding to the journey everything is nicely done. Guides/driver are friendly and knowledgeable. Glacier ice walk is one of a kind experience. Skywalk is also cool experience. No need to be afraid of heights since glass is capable of holding 4 Million squirrels at once. Overall happy experience

Viator or should I say Violator! is not the company you should book with for this tour! I unfortunately did only to drive all the way there yesterday to find out they lied to me flat out about the time. Pursuit is the compay running the show there and they are the ones who set the tour times and said that Viator often lies to customers to get business. There was no room for my so called 11:45am tour!! The did get me in at 3:00pm only cause they were not busy and open then. BTW I did not save any money also with Viatour. Had I booked with Pursuit the price was about the same and of course they would honor my resurvation.
