Hoi An Half-Day Trip to Cam Thanh Village with Bamboo Basket-Boat Experience

Meet your guide in the lobby of your hotel in Hoi An and make a morning or afternoon departure, depending on the option selected at booking. It's a short drive to the Cam Thanh fishing village where you take part in the daily life of local fishermen and their families. 

Start with a welcome snack of bottled water, coconut, and fruit juice. Then get settled into a bamboo basket boat and hear a brief introduction about the history of the Cam Thanh River, including the role it played during wartime. Learn to paddle this traditional Vietnamese vessel and join in a playful basket-boat race against local fishermen who instruct you in the art of round-net and cast-net fishing.

Try to catch crab and coconut mussels and make tools from coconut leaves as you explore the Bay Mau coconut forest. After immersing in these hands-on activities, return to a fisherman's house to cook what you have gathered for lunch or dinner. Mineral water and fruit juice is provided to accompany the meal.

After you partake in traditional fishing techniques and consume your catch, you're returned to your hotel.
