The guide, Taylor, was great and very helpful. The scenery was beautiful! It was a relaxing ride and we did some #2 rapids also. Taylor was knowledgeable about the area. We swam in the Colorado River and put our feet in natural hot springs. We felt safe throughout. An enjoyable experience!

Mudslides and I 70Closed - but still show for rafting- no thanks

Nothing to do with the rafting company as they told me I should contact Viator. They did not offer to refund or rain check my date though. There was a mud slide on 70 so I cancelled my hotel. The route on CDOT said 70 was closed and the alternate route was way north of Glenwood Springs and the news said it was closed. After cancelling my hotel I tried to contact Viator to cancel and no luck. I won’t book anything through Viator or online again unless I speak to the business first. I am Not taking my 12 year old through a canyon with mudslides and a circus show of trying to find some side road that I have to show my confirmation to the police so they let me through the road closure. Just sounds like a bad trip idea all around.

We really liked our experience. However, we would have liked a little more white and a little more rapid I think. After the first 30 min, we glided down the River and looked at the scenery for another 1.5 hours. I think we weren’t prepared for how much down time there was. But overall it was good.

Amazing experience for two 65 yr old first timers and three teenage grands! Our tour guide was awesome, knowledgeable and helpful in every way. We had a great combination of rapids and relaxing floating. Just the right amount of both for first-timers. Challenging if not in perfect physical condition, but doable!
