Returns to original departure point
South of Fort Myers is Everglades National Park, one of the most beautiful and unique places on earth. This tour is led by an experienced naturalist guide who is certified by both the park and the US Coast Guard. Learn about the history of the Everglades, as well as the wide variety of wildlife and vegetation that exist throughout the park.

Every tour is different, but expect to encounter the Everglade's wildlife at some point. Look for manatees, dolphins, sea turtles, bald eagles, ospreys, herons, egrets and roseate spoonbills, to name some of them.

Begin the tour with a boat ride — it’s what’s known as a kayak transport boat with all the trimmings (full safety equipment, satellite communications, GPS tracking system, large sunshade, even a cooler for drinks) — through one of the most remote areas of Everglades National Park. At the destination, this is where it turns into a hands-on eco experience. It’s time to hop in a kayak. Don’t worry about knowing how to get going. It’s easy and fun. A few simple instructions will get the one- or two-person kayak moving in the right direction. Paddle along close to the flora and fauna, en route to Barrier Island Beach, an island seldom visited by others.

At the beach, the interpretive experience turns into a walking tour. Check out the wrack lines, shallow tidal zones, dunes, uniquely adapted plants, shells, mangrove swamps, plus the many different invertebrate species.

After the beach hike, it’s back in the kayaks to paddle back to the boat for the ride home.

We had a great day with captain Dan. He was so knowledgeable and witty. He found many unique experiences for us, including playful dolphin, mating horse shoe crabs, and wooing spotted Ray's!

Thanks for your review. Dan is passionate about the Everglades and it shows. You might want to try the Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Eco Tour to encounter alligators

We had the best time ever on this trip!! We were in Florida for 2 weeks and experienced a lot of fun activities but this was my favorite!! Our wonderful guide was very knowledgeable in the area and about the wildlife, shells, etc. We saw wild dolphins that played in the wake of our boat. Real horse shoe crabs - with some great facts. We walked a small beach between two mangrove tree islands and learned so much about shells and their inhabitants. Our guide took us to some inner lakes where we kayakers back to where boats can't go. It was marvelous!! This tour is well worth your time!!

A great way to experience this pristine habitat and all it's wildlife. I enjoyed the variety of boat, foot and kayak and learnt so much from our guide Captain Fred. The highlights were viewing a nesting pair of bald eagles and dolphins playing in the wake of the boat.

A little bit hard to find without gps, but well worth it. We had 2 kids with us and we were tentative as to wether they would like it, but they were entirely thrilled. The scenery was beautiful, we were lucky enough to see a dolphin, the tour guide was perfect for the occasion.

Wow! What an awesome day. Captains Josh and Kristin were wonderful guides on this interesting and fun adventure. We would give it two thumbs up....WAY up. Dolphins followed us, playing in the wake of our boat as we were heading out for our kayak trip through the islands. It was a day we will never forget and we will DEFINITELY be back to do some fishing with Captain Josh. He was so knowledgable about not only the wildlife, but the history of the natvives that first settled the area all the way to current day. We found some gorgeous shells as we walked along a deserted island beach and would highly recommend this as a great way to experience the Everglades.

I had been to the other two entrances to the park. This one was completely different. I expected alligators and sawgrass, not so. Still a beautiful area with a great tour guide.

We spent a week in south Florida at the end of March and this was the highlight of our trip! Captain Josh was wonderful -- he showed us amazing wildlife, he knew the history and biology of the area, he was accommodating and patient -- and his passion and love for the place was infectious. I highly recommend this tour. I only wish I could give him 6 stars.

Five star trip! Our Captain/tour...

Five star trip! Our Captain/tour guide Josh really knows about all the natural wonders that the everglades has to offer. He taught us things about the plants, animals, and little critters that I never knew before. You could tell that he wanted to make this a memorable experience for my 12 year old son, my sister and me. We saw dolphins, manatees, sting rays, beautiful shells, bald eagles, osprey and so much more. I recommend this adventure to anyone who wants to truly experience the everglades with a safe, fun captain at your side.
