Great Alnwick Castle Tour

Wonderful tour and Driver/Tour Guide. The driver was very knowledgeable, very polite, and placed the needs of tourist at the top of his list. My tour date was Oct 24, 2019.

Excellent tour

The guide was very friendly and informative. Alnwick Castle was amazing even though it was a rainy day. Lindisfarne is a nice little village with a historic castle and priory, worth viewing. I Recommend this tour when visiting Edinburgh. Visitors would benefit from a longer stay at Alnwick.

Alnwick Castle

Alnwick was a little disappointing. The monestary was the most interesting part. Not a lot to share about it.

Lovely day trip

Had a lovely day trip! Alnwick Castle was so much fun and I loved the archeological objects on display. There was a sword from the Hellenistic period which I thought very cool. The fish and chips were delicious. Our guide George was great and super knowledge able. Would go again!

Amazing Day Trip

Our tour guide shared so much history, ins & outs of getting around the areas we visited and more on our day trip to the Coast. It was great to leave the “research” up to the guide and listen to him tell us about the coast and it’s history. Would definitely book w Viator again.

Rainy day visit

Unfortunately our trip was marred by persistent rain which did dampen the spirits. However I would still recommend Alnwick castle- state rooms in particular! Would have liked to learn more about Viking influence in Scottish history.

Great day!

Very enjoyable day tour in a small comfortable bus with a small group of people. Angela was an excellent tour guide. She is very knowledgeable and friendly and I enjoyed how she played various folk songs that had relevance to the region and its history. We did the tour as planned but she took into consideration all of our interests and expectations and tailored the tour accordingly.

Lively day out with stories and songs

If you can, ask for Angela! This was a terrific day of stories, songs and beautiful countryside.  Angela is a warm and joyful guide to the border region and its bloody history, and her road trip soundtrack is on point. She makes even bathroom stops into special moments. The 'viking' reference in the tour's title is slightly misleading as the histories covered here were post-Viking era. Lindisfarne is lovely - the free mead tastings are a highlight, and I'm usually a non-drinker! You need to time your activities at Alnwick Castle - they have a daily program. That bit is probably more appealing to the kids than the adults, although the historical talks are interesting.

This was my favorite activity in my 5 days in Edinburgh. We had plenty of time to explore Lindinsfarne( 1 hour) and Alnwick Castle and Gardens(3 hours). The castle is great and the gardens are spectacular. Would definately recommend. Our driver Alan kept us entertained and was great
