Very knowledgeable tour guide

It gives me great pleasure to leave an extremely Postive and highly recommended review for this trip.On Monday 14th, I met James and another friendly chap at the pick up point. They check my ticket and gave covid restriction instructions and we left on time. The bus wasn't full due to the social distancing seating and we had great driver / guide in James. He was funny and extremely knowledgeable and eloquent(also a great drone photographer). We went to the Kelpies and then Loch Lomond, had some good lunch neat scenic views James was kind enough to stop at a point just before main Loch to get some beautiful mountain views and then we went to the Stirling Castle and reached back on time. Everything went great and I will surely consider them for other trips.

Great day trip

My purpose for seeing this particular part of Scotland was due to my ancestors coming from this area. I chose this day trip as it also included a cruise on Loch Lomond which some companies didn't include. I found the day to be enjoyable with plenty of free time at Stirling Castle & the village we stopped at for lunch. The driver (Stuart) was very informative, friendly, helpful & a safe driver. The coach was comfortable especially as this is a very popular day trip from Edinburgh.

Initial disorganization and change of bus compromised interesting destinations and an excellent tour guide

Compared to other tour we took, the Timberbush Tours departure was chaos. Where the other had a central check-in and predetermined bus arrival point for us to wait, at Timberbush the person in charge did not check anyone in, and seemed to be unaware of where buses for each tour would be parking for pickup. And he had people so spread out that his voice couldn't reach us all when he made an announcement. So only a portion of those waiting were aware of any particular bit of information. The net result was near chaos. And despite us arriving well before others on our tour, we wound up being the last to board and getting individual seats sprinkled through the bus near and at the back. The second issue is that when we booked the tour months ago the website indicated it would be on a small, 18 passenger, bus (that detail has been removed from the current listing). That was one key reason why we chose this tour. But when the bus arrived, it was for 47 passengers. It changes the whole dynamic of the tour. With a small bus it is quick and easy for the driver to stop multiple times along the way because it is quick to unload and load a small bus. That means getting to actually see intermediate sites instead of waving as you zoom by. And getting bathroom breaks before bladders burst. In contrast, it takes so long to unload and reload a large bus that intermediate stops were impractical. And when we got to destinations after long stretches on the road, everyone was dashing for the restrooms instead of taking an opportunity to enjoy the sights. Our other tour (with a different operator) was also heavily subscribed. But instead of that operator switching to a large bus and compromising the experience, they added more small buses to accommodate the extra passengers. It cost them more money (3 drivers instead of 1), but the tour was far better. We got to stop and see more, and relate much more closely with the tour guide. So despite a yeoman performance by the driver/guide (Stuart), the bus switch and having to sit separately near the back of a large coach, made this a poor experience.

Super Fun!

We had a great time! Marty was our tour guide, he was super entertaining. He played traditional Scottish music during the drive and told us about the history of Scotland and tales of famous Historical Figures. We lucked out on the weather, and had ample time at Loch Lommond and the Castle. Got to see some beautiful parts of the Scottish Countryside. Would definitely recommend!

The visit to loch Lomond wasn't worth it. The interesting part of this tour was Stirling Castle and because we lost so much time waiting for the latecomers we spent only a little more than an our at Stirling Castle. You can take a city bus from Edimburg to Stirling Castle for 5 pounds for two and spent as much time as you want there. So don't waste your money and your time. A very positive note go to the driver how spent a lot of time waiting and going after the late people because he didn't want to leave anyone behind it was kind of him.

Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle

The day tour from Edinburgh was a delight. The tour left promptly. The guide gave entertaining and fun stories about the history of Scotland and locations. The boat portion was beautiful and relaxing. Lunch in Aberfoyle provided some good eating options. Stirling Castle could have used a little more time for touring, but still great to visit.

Loch Lomond & Stirling Castle

The boat trip on Loch Lomond was fine. Loch Lomond is very commercialised and but there are beautiful views. Stirling Castle is an incredible medueval castle, definitely worth the visit if you are a fan of history. The air conditioner on our bus malfunctioned which made for an uncomfortable drive, the driver was very apologetic. The stops were quite quick, and the driver seemed rushed to fit everything in. Besides the heat the trip was very pleasant.
