Disembark along the way to explore historical villages and atmospheric castles tucked away in the woods, with an optional boat ride on Loch Ness in search of the mysterious Loch Ness Monster.

Day 1: Edinburgh – Inverness

Depart Edinburgh and make photo stops at Loch Lubnaig and Callander. Then journey to Glencoe Mountain, a haunting glen that was the scene of a terrible massacre in 1692, where many of the Macdonald Clan died.

On arrival at Loch Ness, you have the option to take a boat trip out on the loch (April to October; price not included) to look for Nessie the Loch Ness Monster, and take in views of Urquhart Castle, or you may stay on dry land to explore the castle's mighty ruins. More scenic views and a quick photo stop are offered at the inspirational memorial of Commando Monument (Spean Bridge).

Continue your journey, arriving at Inverness. Enjoy free time to soak up the lively atmosphere and beautiful Victorian architecture before you’re dropped off at your accommodation. The evening is free for you to explore the capital of the Highlands.

Overnight: 3-star hotel or B&B in Inverness

Day 2: Inverness – Culloden - Pitlochry – Edinburgh

After a leisurely breakfast, you are picked up from your Inverness accommodation and travel toward the Culloden Battlefield at Culloden Moor. Experience the Battle of Culloden, admire Jacobite artifacts, and visit the powerfully moving site of the final Jacobite rising. Travel through winding back roads and discover a 4,000-year-old cemetery at Clava Cairns.

After a possible stop at eight the House of Bruar at Blair Atholl with free time to stroll around or Dalwhinnie Distillery for whisky tasting (own expense).

From here, continue on to Cairngorm National Park. This unique area is one of the last remaining pockets of native Caledonian pine forest left standing. Gaze in awe at Scotland’s most beautifully rounded peaks en route back to Edinburgh.

More than Outlander

I found this two day adventure even better than I had hoped. For that I thank our driver and guide, Martin. He managed our tour with grace and humor. I learned about, admired and enjoyed The Highlands.

A Highland wonderland

One of the best tours I’ve been on. James our tour guide was awesome. Very knowledgeable and approachable, an asset to the company. Being a very small group, James went out of his way to show us as much around his beautiful country as he could fit in. The highlands are absolutely stunning, and with the recent snow, made it all the more beautiful. Can’t wait to come back in summer now.

Amazing view of North Scotland!

As Outlander brought the city of Inverness and I picked this trip to see that famous city! And I was blown away with everything else on this trip. Going over the mountians and some small hiking trips was wonderful. While it was dark when we got to Inverness I can say I was there. But the way back was the highlight! Loch Ness was beautiful! The boat ride was perfect. Glencoe was beyond humbling. Our guide was extremely educated and stopped multipule times for pictures and bathrooms. Can't recommend enough.

This was hands-down one of the best small tours I have taken! Steven is great! He is passionate about what he does, and it shows! Great sense of humor, super knowledgeable about Scotland history, and US pop culture! The highlands were stunning, as were all our other stops along the way. We were always kept in the loop about everything we were seeing and doing, and I was very pleased with the chosen lodging! I highly recommend this tour, and especially our guide Steven!

Excellent weekend trip of the highlands

I had booked this trip as a birthday present for my girlfriend and we were both very happy with the experience. Our driver Keith was very knowledgable, entertaining and flexible. We saw breathtaking places of raw nature in the highlands and had lunch in cozy little towns along the way that usually offered amazing views as well. Upon arrival in Inverness on Saturday evening we were welcomed by our Bed and Breakfast host, Angela who was incredibly accomodating and sweet. She sorted us out with a cell phone charger adapter for my girlfriend and recommended us a pub to have dinner which we were very happy with. The breakfast was very good and both traditional Scottish and a lighter version with fruits and a crossaint was offered. We were lucky with the weather this weekend and Keith drove us to spots that offered spectacular views on the way down on Sunday.

I can't believe how amazing this trip was

We only had 4 days in Scotland and wanted to see as much as we could. It was a bit of a sacrifice to do an over night trip and lose time that could have been spent in Edinburgh. And it was 100% worth it. I kept looking out of the window at the scenery that passed in complete disbelief at the beauty. Fiona was our guide and she was kind, funny and took great care of us!

Trip was good with good accommodation and comfortable vehicle. Nice views and enough photo stops along the way. Maybe guided city tour in Inverness would be something to consider.

Stevie was our Driver. We had a wonderful two day trip to Loch Ness. He told us interesting stories about the areas as we drove and played fantastic music to go along with the stories. We stopped along the way at the Kelpies structures, beautiful waterfalls, many photo opportunities , pub lunches , shopping and whiskey tasting. Our accommodations in Inverness were very comfortable and located within walking distance to everything in town.

We saw so much in two days! The trip was a perfect balance of driving and stops. The van was comfy and clean with large windows. Our guide, William Drummond, was the heart and soul of the tour. He provided a knowledgeable, amusing tale of Scottish history as we drove that provided a context for all that we saw. thank you, William!
