Following pickup at your hotel in Gros Islet or Castries, transfer to the launch point for your ATV (all-terrain vehicle) excursion.

Meet your experienced adventure guide and listen to a short safety briefing and orientation. Hop on the back of your Yamaha ATV, a full automatic vehicle that makes off-roading easy and safe.

Set out along trails with your small group of eleven people or less, first arriving at a functioning banana plantation. Learn about the operations of the farm and how banana farming was St Lucia's primary economic industry before tourism on the island picked up.

Continuing on the trails, pass locals going about their daily activities in the rural farming communities. When you reach the 18th-century Marquis Estate, enjoy stunning views over Marquis Bay. This estate and its 500-acre (202-hectare) property is also home to the ruins of a sugar mill, a water wheel, and old locomotive and a slave quarters.

Your next stop is the edge of Grande Anse Beach, where you can enjoy some refreshing local fruit juice. This gorgeous beach is a protected nesting site for leatherback and hawksbill turtles between the months of March and August. Your guide will fill you in on researchers' efforts to track the turtles and their offspring.

When your 3-hour adventure is over, board your tour vehicle for the return to your Gros Islet or Castries hotel.

Please note: a minimum of 2 people per booking is required.
Itinerary
Stop At:
Marquis Estate
After hotel pickup in Castries or Gros Islet, meet your experienced guide, who will ensure your ease and comfort aboard a fun and fully automatic Yamaha ATV. Hop on your ATV for an easy ride that takes you along trails to your first stop at a working banana plantation. Pass villagers going about their daily activities as you drive through small settlements on your way to the Marquis Estate, established in 1723. Situated on the stunning northeast coast of St Lucia, the Marquis Estate was one of the largest private estates during the island's heyday in the late 18th century. See for yourself as you look out over Marquis Bay with its pristine white sands and clear, turquoise waters. Tucked in a lush tropical valley, this breathtaking 500-acre (202-hectare) also offers relics of St Lucia’s past, including a water wheel, an old locomotive, ruins of a sugar mill, and even slave quarters that housed men and women who toiled under British rule until their emancipation in 1833.

Well organised but a bit boring

The tour was well organised but a little slow and not much time to see any wildlife considering we were in a rain forest

We were waiting in the lobby since 11:15am when the tour was supposed to pick us up at 11:30am, but ended up running 15 minutes later and didn’t pick us up until 11:45am. We didn’t mind at all, people are late all the time, it’s life. But the tour driver had arranged for a taxi to pick us up and he apparently didn’t know what to do, so he was waiting in the lower parking lot the whole time instead of picking us up at the main lobby entrance like he was supposed to. She was so apologetic and explained the entire situation to us even though it really wasn’t a bother, but we really appreciated her doing that and don’t blame her at all! She made the car ride there very fun and congratulated us on our very recent marriage. The ATV tour itself was fun! A mixture of fast and slower riding, some rougher terrain which was fun and we learned about sugar factories. We had a great time!

Worth it for a more down-to-earth experience

The experience was very good. Booking was simple, the hotel pickup was convenient, and the staff were very welcoming and happy to answer any questions. We filled in a disclaimer and were assigned ATVs. After a brief period of instructions, we practiced on the ATVs and then were off to take our ride. Most of it was on roads, with some on rocky paths and we went across a creek also. We stopped several times and learned a history or culture lesson and also to enjoy some vistas. Along the way, we could see lettuce farms, cows, chickens, local homes, and plenty of coconut and banana trees. The team provided water bottles during our stops and were happy to have a discussion about St. Lucian life. I recommend this, whether you go solo or with friends/family!

Absolutely enjoyed this tour riding thru the local towns and thru some of the rainforest. The tour guides were really nice and patient with everyone. The tour guides also took good photos of me and my friend on the tour. The pickup stuff was a bit confusing but it still worked and the tour people are very accommodating. Def well worth the money paid and the duration as well. The only thing i don’t remember is receiving local fruit juice from in town while on the tour but the scenery is so beautiful in Jamaica. Highly suggested to being sneakers or water shoes with a strong bottom and glasses unless u prefer to wear the goggles provided. The only thing i would say that could be better is the communication about pick up but everything was amazing and i can’t wait to go back to st Lucia

A Must Do Experience

We had a great experience. One of the best ATV tours that I’ve taken (and I’ve been on several). It’s not a Mickey Mouse tour, so beware it you’re afraid of curves and mud, this isn’t for you. We rode through the mountains and local areas where we saw a true image of how local St. Lucians love. I really enjoyed our guides history points and his knowledge of the island. I’d 1,000% do this again. Very simple and to the point AND no annoying sales pitches at the end.
