Start your day's eco-adventure with pickup from your Cancún or Playa del Carmen hotel. In a comfortable tour vehicle, head for Punta Sam, approximately 15 minutes away by car.

In Punta Sam, enjoy some coffee, fruit and pastries before boarding the boat. During the 50-minute journey to the whale sharks' feeding area, get an orientation on whale shark biology and behavior. Your guide will explain how the activity will work and what you can expect.

Once at your destination, spend approximately 3 hours taking turns swimming and snorkeling with the whale sharks. Don the provided snorkeling gear and slip into the water, two people at a time, and swim with these gentle giants under the supervision of your guide.

After your snorkeling session is over, climb back onto the boat and munch on some sandwiches and snacks on the way back to the mainland. Make a stop at Isla Mujeres, where you'll take a swim in the warm, shallow water and dig in to a fresh shrimp ceviche.

Back on the mainland, get convenient drop-off at your hotel.

Up Close and Personal

Our guides were very accommodating and helpful! They mentioned that it was the first sighting of the whale sharks of this particular season, so we felt really lucky to be apart of the migration. The actual jumps were well organized, efficient, and safe. We were provided sandwiches and fruit before leaving, and given water bottles throughout. Would definitely recommend this tour for anyone that wants to get up close and personal with these incredible animals. We were even able to see a large group of manta rays and dolphins! The tour lasted about 6-7 hours in total which the group agreed was plenty of time to feel like we got our money’s worth. Thank you!
DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The whole ''excursion'' was a scam. Whale sharks aren't even seen in the Month of May. Yet they open the booking as early as May. We were informed of this by our hotel we stayed at while we were in Cancun. They drove us around in the boat and went out as far as 23 miles until we all decided we just wanted to leave after not seeing a thing. Once we got back to the building; they refused to take us back home after being asked repeatedly. We had to threaten to call the police for them kidnapping us. And last but not least they were refusing to give us back our refund after all of this, and still only gave 50% of it back. Which I had to practically beg back for. I would never recommend them to anyone.

This was an incredible experience highly recommend doing it but bring your own go pro as I had thought they would take photos and they didn't. That was the only downer because I was expecting to get at least one photo of the Whale shark. Guides were great and friendly.

This tour was amazing!! We were a small group, around 8. and had enough time with the whale shark. After that, we stopped by isla mujeres and had nice time there. Breakfast and lunch were really good. A special thanks to our guide Luis. Took us to the best place, guided us with the whale shark, and took the best photos for us. Not to forget Alejandro as well, for making the photos and pictures for us. This team was the best!! A big thanks again to all of them.
