A must do/see!

We took this tour over Christmas break 2021. We were hesitant to book such a long tour, but it was well worth it! Pros: -Definitely our main man, Pepe, our tour guide. His energy, passion for the environment, knowledge of the various stops, jokes and singing (wow he can sing!) kept us entertained all day. He is a gem! -Customer Service. Our son left his only pair of sneakers on the van and not only did the company perform a search and rescue for them, but they actually returned them to our hotel! Cannot thank Laura and the Ocean Tours customer service team enough. They took concierge level service to a whole new level! -Loved going to Tulum. Martin was our guide at the ruins and he was so special. We learned that he is retiring soon so we were glad to learn so much Mayan history from him. -Cenotes--wow, talk about saving the best part for last. We've never experienced anything so cool. Water shoes are a must and you have to be able to walk on uneven ground, jump in the water, be daring, etc. I did cut myself on one of the rocks and Pepe rushed right over to make sure I was okay and could continue and then had antiseptic/bandages for me. Cons: -the van was crammed, uncomfortable and we felt a bit close for comfort, especially with Covid. We expected a larger bus, but after visiting the sites, we understand that a bus would have a hard time accessing some of the locations like the cenotes. -we were told to be ready to go by 6:30 am and the van did not show until 7am. We would have appreciated that extra 30 minutes of sleep given how long the day was. A few other notes: -Wear your swimsuit under your clothes or you have to change at the ruins and the bathrooms are meh. -Suggest taking some snacks even though some were provided. I don't think we ate lunch until close to 2PM. -Bring a change of clothes for the ride home. -Once you board the van, the nly bathroom is at the entrance to Tulum and there isn't another opportunity to go until you arrive at the cenotes so if you are like me and tend to drink a lot of water, don't this time! ; ) -The photographer, Stephanie, was nice and did not push the photo package on us. She did take some amazing shots that we would have never captured so be open to purchasing if you love photos as much as we do.

Dear Tara, thank you very much for this complete review of the day, you gave great feedbacks so that our community can have good expectations. Thank you for naming each of the representatives, your words are very important for all of them and will be certainly shared with them. We also understand the 30mn sleep in the morning could have been appreciated for sure, and we wish always to give the best service possible as to the pick up updates by calling the people in the morning to keep them informed on how we go when we have the phone number of course, but this is not always easy or predictable, there can be so many factors on the way provoking delays, hence why we also like to use small vans versus bigger buses, first because as you said, the drive to the cenotes with a bus would not be ideal, and second because with a van, you have a restricted number of pick ups to do for being smaller groups. That being said, we are truly grateful and appreciate that you took some time to send your comments. We hope to have the chance to welcome you again in the future! Kind regards, Geraldine Ocean tours

Best part of our whole trip to Cancun.

Our guide Juan was incredible. This whole excursion was the highlight of our trip to Cancun. We want to bring our kids back next year to do it! My husband loved the snorkeling. We saw a sea turtle and had some very large stingrays swim right up underneath of us. the cenote was amazing, and Tulum was an awesome trip back into history. If you're looking for an excursion to do THIS IS THE ONE! We also got some amazing photo's from the photographer that was with us.

Great Tulum Tour for Solo travelers
Olga_N
, Jan 2022
I was recommended this trip by a friend and I am so glad I booked it! I did it solo but the people in my group were wonderful, the guide was so fun, helpful, great energy. The ruins had a lot of history, during snorkeling we saw a ton of turtles and giant stingrays, and the cenote and caves were magnificent and not like anything I have ever experienced. Would definitely recommend this!
icon Response from Host , Jan 2022
Yes, the turtles in Akumal bay are amazing!! To be so close to them in their natural habitat is an amazing experience and we are glad we provide that for you. Thank you for your review and hope to see you again.

excursion is fabulous; transportation was poor
Collette_C
, Jan 2022
guide was personable and knowledgeable; van was very crowded with super small seats making the long drive uncomfortable; other excursions booked elsewhere provided a much more pleasant transportation and still had fabulous guides; the Ruins and Ceynote were well worth doing...just wished we had booked elsewhere as our legs and backs had serious cramping from being packed in like sardines
icon Response from Host , Jan 2022
Hi Collette, thank you for sharing your comments, and especially for rating this 4 stars, when I see you saying that you would have maybe booked this somewhere else because of the transportation. that means that our guide did a great job, and manage to make you spend a lovely day in spite of the bad time spent on the van I presume! You were 9 that day, in a van that can fit 12 seats normally. We are sorry if you felt like squeezed. We do our best to divide the people accordingly, when we can, in order not to have full vans packed up to the maximum capacity, as we understand this might be uncomfortable especially when you have some drive to do. We are sorry if you felt this uncomfortable. We hope however we will have the pleasure to welcome you again, maybe on a different tour, where the distance is less from your hotel, so that you can fully enjoy it next time! I invite you to contact me directly geraldine@oceantoursmexico.com, and I will be pleased to take care of you personnally. Kind regards, Geraldine Ocean tours

10/10 Tour
Vivian_A
, Jan 2022
I loved my tour!!!! Everything was so amazing and seamless, especially our tour guide who was nothing short of fantastic. The only complaint that I have about this tour, is not the tour itself, but a separate group of people on our tour bus. I have never met a group that complained as much as they did over the most inconsequential things. For future tours, I'd recommend breaking up the groups into smaller groups. For example, splitting up the group based off of age / skill level in the water (my partner and I were unable to fully explore the cenotes as we wished because certain people in our group were unable to swim / had no experience) however I have nothing bad to say about the tour/service itself. 10/10 tour as well as tour guide and would do it again without hesitation.
