Rainy Day in Ghent
, Dec 2019
We had a wonderful time. Ghent was beautiful and interesting. Our guide was knowledgeable and very nice. We reserved for the English-speaking tour which is held at the same time as the Spanish-speaking tour (which is the largest group). This made it difficult to hear. However, it was totally worth it.
Deafened by Spanish Tour Guide Commentary In the Coach

We expected this trip to be an all English speaking trip but there were only five of us and the rest were Spanish speaking (the coach was full). We have our own Tour Guide (Pablo) and were seated right at the back of the coach. The Spanish speaking Tour Guide was speaking so loud through the PA system that we hardly heard what Pablo was saying. Luckily the groups were split once we arrived in Ghent. Pablo showed us around but we also have problem understanding him because of his Spanish accent and he left early. We have enough time for our lunch and also visiting the churches. We met the rest of the group before heading back to Brussels. Luckily there were not much deafening commentary except when nearing Brussels,

The tour was very nice, but we were only 6 people speaking English on a bus which was mainly Spanish. It was hard to hear our guide with the loud announcements in Spanish.

Despite the rain, my wife and I had a wonderful time at Ghent. Our English tour guide Guio was wonderful.

Beautiful place so picturesque loved it. Unfortunately if you are English speaking beware that this tour is Spanish owned & you are the minority & we (4) had to sit on a bus with several Spanish people who Sat at the front in the coolest part of bus while we had to sit at back in the heat (no air con) & listen to the other tour guide YELL down a microphone for at least half an hour non stop. Our poor tour guide did her best to accommodate us & kept apologising . Wouldn't recommend it to anyone who can't speak/understand Spanish. Apart from that we had a pleasant time once we arrived in Ghent.
Excellent walking tour but disappointing transport arrangements
, Jun 2019
Marta was a very informative and knowledgeable guide. She was very professional and Made the walking tour an excellent experience. It would have been a perfect day except that the bus did not arrive at the advertised time to pick us up. It took nearly an hour to make an alternative arrangement to catch a train back to Brussels. Eventually Jesus was able to sort things out and we were able to return to Brussels with only a short delay.
