Absolutely wonderful tour, even though Covid has the museums shut down. My son and I learned a ton and have a whole new appreciation for the current movements happening in our nation. The host was super informative, compassionate towards the cause, and kept us engaged.

The tour was fantastic and packed full of great knowledge for anyone willing to expand their mind to past civil rights history. Recently our country has been facing more civil rights issues so it was awesome to link the past to the present to better understand our country’s current problems as well! The tour lasts around 3 hours total so I’d recommend bringing a water bottle because there is plenty of walking on this tour. Overall, the experience was awesome and I encourage anyone who is thinking about it, to go!

The tour guide was so passionate in his narrative that I was deeply moved. It’s good to be informed of the social injustice from the past. Sad it’s still so prevalent today. Excellent tour!

Awesome Tour
, Mar 2020
This tour was amazing, start to finish. Mike was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the civil rights movement in Birmingham, Alabama and today. We were all very emotional at the end of the tour. Recommend this highly.
Poignant & Inspirational
, Mar 2020
This poignant tour was both educational and inspiring! Mike was our tour guide and he treated us like old friends! He was knowledgeable and passionate, as well as polite. It was amazing to stand where Dr MLK stood, where the Civil Rights movement began, and where Rev Shuttlesworth suffered such persecution. The city of Birmingham has done an excellent job of memorializing the heroes who paid such a high price, and emphasizing the importance of reconciliation and restoration. Thank you for a great experience!
Best tour EVER
, Mar 2020
This tour was spectacular. Mike took us through the chronological journey of the Birmingham Civil Rights movement with an abundance of fascinating stories and visits to so many places. Did you know Birmingham was referred to as Bombingham? You'll find out why. Hear and see heart-wrenching events and learn how a city fought hard to keep segregation and how the Civil Rights movement was finally able to break the racist grip on the city. We laughed and cried. Grateful to Mike and his son Clay for starting this tour experience.
