I have never been so disappointed in something in all my life. We paid several hundreds of dollars to fly over the volcano. Shortly after we took off the pilot says we won't be able fly to the volcano as it was sprinkling. All we did was fly on the coastline. Total disappointment. We had other helicopter rides so didn't need to see the coast One coast looks like the other.. Nothing was said about partial refund as we sure didn't get what we paid for. TOTALLY WASTED MONEY!!!!!! I do hope they post this so others won't be disappointed like we were.I know it was an act of nature, but really. Others had taken a bus to the volcano and said they even got to see the steam. What a bunch of garbage!!!!!!

Christmas day adventure!

Kilauea really destroyed everything in its path. Ron gave us a wonderful view of it all........The beauty of the falls contrasted with the blackness of lava. Awesome!

We booked this tour for my family of four about 3 weeks before arriving the Bis Island. They were professional from start to finish. They reached out immediate upon booking. Directions were easy to follow and clear. They called the day before again to confirm. They are strict about all passengers wearing dark colors while on the tour as we saw them require a woman wearing yellow to buy a navy colored shirt in order to board. There is a safety briefing before you board which was helpful. . The views were spectacular of course.

With the exception of the excitement of climbing on board a helicopter, this excursion was very disappointing. The inactivity of the volcano is just nature, however the decison to fly with moisture /rain in the air, and average visibilty due to cloud and mist was the wrong decision in my opinion. The mention of 'Waterfalls' is a joke, we travelled for at least 15 min from the crater to see A 'waterfall'? and very average at that... should there have been more waterfalls? the $NZ1000.00. spent was badly mis-spent.

Best Thing We Did On the Island

Blue Hawaiian staff are extremely accommodating. We were clouded/rained out Monday when we originally went, and then again on Tuesday. I regret that I did not get the name of the lady at the front desk who helped us both times with rescheduling, apologies, and coupons for the tropical rain forest. She made the process of having to reschedule the trip twice painless and easy. On Wednesday we were finally able to go, and our pilot Jeremy was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. He addressed all the guests by name, and told us when and where to look for the most interesting views. The ride itself was very enjoyable. It was my first time in a helicopter and I would gladly take another ride with Blue Hawaiian next time we visit. When we landed, the staff was ready with cold towels and water, and they talked with us excitedly about our trip. It was really nice that they were just as happy for us as we were to finally get up there. I can't wait to watch the video of our tour. It's a memory I will cherish forever. Mahalo!
