Frequently Asked Questions
The answers provided below are based on answers previously given by the tour provider to customers’ questions.
How does the Baltimore Indoor Skydiving Experience work?
A:A vertical wind tunnel has fans at the top to draw air through the flight chamber and then push it back down the sides. The air is then compressed & sped up before it reenters the flight chamber causing a smooth column of air that enables you to fly.
How safe is the Baltimore Indoor Skydiving Experience?
A:The unique design of the wind tunnel, with its wall-to-wall air column, along with certified and highly-trained instructors, allows you to safely enjoy your flight. Your instructor is with you the entire time regardless of your level of experience.
What is a Wind Tunnel?
A:Very simply, a wind tunnel is a machine that moves a lot of air. A vertical wind tunnel moves air in a vertical column at speeds high enough to keep a person safely floating.
How early should I arrive for the Baltimore Indoor Skydiving Experience?
A:It is important that you arrive on time for your scheduled session. Your experience will begin promptly upon your arrival so please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early for your reservation so you have time to check in.
Do I fly alone or with a group during the Baltimore Indoor Skydiving Experience?
A:Generally, a group of up to 12 guests fly in each session. Your friends and family will be part of the same group, however, you will fly one at a time in the flight chamber one-on-one with your instructor.
How long is each flight during the Baltimore Indoor Skydiving Experience?
A:Each flight within the wind tunnel lasts 60 seconds. The entire iFLY first-time flyer experience takes approx. 1 hour and 30 minutes from start to finish.
Can I bring family/friends to watch, but not participate in the Baltimore Indoor Skydiving Experience?
A:If someone chooses to come to watch, he or she is welcome to accompany you through your experience and can watch from the observation area.
Is it scary during the Baltimore Indoor Skydiving Experience?
A:Generally, no. There’s no jumping, no falling, and no experience is needed. You simply float on a column of air. There is no sensation of falling or anything that would make you feel motion sickness.
Is it hard to breathe during the Baltimore Indoor Skydiving Experience?
