The trip was just as described. The only suggestion is that the tour guide needs a bit more experience. He is a terrific guy, but he needs some experience guiding tours. Overall, it was very enjoyable.

Enjoyable tour to small villages.

Our guide was knowledgeable, and personable. He took us to a quaint village not on the agenda, at our request, and then took a wonderful back road to Amsterdam. It was a unique experience.

Fun day with a terrific guide

Our guide was great. He walked with us explaining everything as we went along and allowed us free time afterwards to explore on our own. He arranged for our lunch to be ready when we arrived in Monnickendam to save time and again walked us through the town. This tour was very worthwhile and I would definitely recommend.

Cheese and wooden shoe making were great. Pickup location changed but we were not notified. Tour guide did not speak loud enough to hear in back of van and said he would not speak louder. Also did not keep group together. He continued walking and talking although more than half of group were not with him

Dear Janine, Thank you for your feedback and information. I am sorry to hear our guide would not speak louder on request. This should our guides always ask pro active to anybody in our van so it should not even come from you as our guest. I will dive in to this immidiate and take this up so we can keep our services as high as our trackrecord has always been. Departure location: The departure location has been changed in the beginning of the year 2022. When booked in 2021 we have sended everybody a message twice. If booked later the departure location is on the tickets at the bottom of the page. Do not know what happened there but I am happy all went fine in the end. Again, thank you for you feedback and i will follow this up, Kind regards, Apostolis

A wonderful and relaxing way to spend the day

The van was on time. The driver very knowledgeable about the local history. Zaanse Schans was really fun with its windmills and local shops. Lunch in the fishing village of Volendam was scenic. The best part is being driven around the Dutch countryside with stops here and there to see how Gouda and wooden clogs are made. Don’t miss this tour!

We really enjoyed our small group tour - Everything from the transportation, the timing at each stop, the conversation, the information, etc. We had such a great day and highly recommend to anyone who wants to explore some towns of Netherlands outside of the city of Amsterdam

Fantastic tour guide and trip. Great way to see a popular attraction without feeling like a tourist. Would recommend this over any of the large tour buses.

Tour of windmills, cheese making and wooden shoes.

This tour was excellent. We were 8 persons in a van. We drove to tour first destination in about 20 minutes. This was a small community with several windmills. Our guide (Apostole, unsure of spelling) was great he talked with us about he windmills and then allowed us to explore on our own. His knowledge of the water projects and engineering of such in Holland was extensive and informative. He never lectured, just provide information and answered our questions. The next stop was the cheese factory that was most interesting, and then the wooden shoe factory that was also very interesting. We were allowed ample time at each stop but were never bored. We enjoyed the company of our guide, met some interesting people and saw some interesting places. We highly recommend this tour.

The tour was great. It was a small group so we got to ask a lot of questions and to engage our guide, plus our guide adjusted the tour to address our interests. We learned a lot.

Excellent tour with great guide
Barbara_S

The tour gave a great perspective on the Netherlands' low country -- highly evolved water management, applications of wind power, transportation by canal. Watching the wind-powered sawmill operate and learning about its construction was a highlight. And we enjoyed seeing the small villages -- life as it happens now. Goulven was a terrific guide, knowledgeable, professional, happy to answer questions and to chat, responsive to our preferences.

Windmills and hot chocolate

This is a must see. The iconic Windmills were stretched out along the countryside and looked magnificent. It was as I had imagined it would be. The shops were very nice especially the Chocolate shop serving that delicious hot chocolate.

Windmills all for us

, Feb 2022
We were the only people on this tour due to the restrictions but, it was still good as we avoided the rush. It was raining that day but, it did not stop us from enjoying the windmills up close. Our guide is really nice and explained everything well, I just forgot his name.

Tol was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable. Fun tour. The windmills were very interesting. Each one has different purpose. The eco system is extremely important to Amsterdam. Visited a fisherman’s village too!

This was a really enjoyable and chilled trip. There was only three of us on the tour and it was really well paced. There was a good mixture of guided time and free time. The guide was excellent and certainly knew his stuff.
