The meeting point is only a 3-minute walk away from Leidseplein (easy to reach by tram). We start at the bike shop of our partners of A-Bike Vondelpark next to the entrance of Vondelpark. We hope to meet you there!

This activity will end right where it started.
Leave the bustle of the city behind on a countryside bike tour from Amsterdam. Your approximately 13.5- to 15-mile (22- to 25-kilometer) ride will take you the outskirts of the city and the countryside beyond, stopping along the way so your guide can share interesting anecdotes and background.

Your tour begins in central Amsterdam in the late morning, when your informative guide provides a brief introduction to Amsterdam’s history. Then, cycle through the bike-friendly city of Amsterdam, pedaling along narrow streets and canals and over beautiful bridges.

Slowly, your cityscape changes to tranquil pastures and peaceful waterways. Keep watch for colorful houseboats, as well as people fishing and rowing in the water.

At a local farmhouse, meet a farmer and enjoy some Dutch traditions: sample farm-produced cheese and watch a demonstration of how clogs are made. Stop at the iconic De Riekermolen windmill, one of only eight remaining authentic windmills in and around Amsterdam.

During your ride back to Amsterdam, cycle through some of the city’s parks including the lush Vondelpark, Amsterdam’s largest and most well-known park, and the woodland scenery of Amsterdamse Bos Park. Your tour ends in the afternoon.

Here we visit a lovely Dutch farmer at their cheese farm and clog factory. At the farm they will demonstrate the traditional art of making wooden shoes and famous Gouda cheese. Afterwards, you’ll be able to have a look around in their little gift shop and taste some free samples of authentic Dutch cheese. We'll also take a short brake for you to eat your packed lunch or snacks.

This tour was such a great experience! The bike ride was easy-going and included frequent stops for water and information about sights. Once we were out of the city center and biking along the outer canals, the ride was really peaceful and the countryside is beautiful. Good windmill photo-op, and the cheese and clog tour was cool. Our tour guide Adonis was knowledgeable and so friendly!!

Excellent tour. I went on my own, but it is a great tour to meet and chat to other travellers. The tour guide was excellent, he was a retired historian so we got to learn lots about Amsterdam. I was a little nervous about cycling in Amsterdam as it is so busy, but this tour gets out into the countryside quickly so was perfect. The stop at the cheese/clog farm was great, really interesting to learn how both are made. It is a beautiful well organised tour, and well worth doing.

Our english guide was great and entertaining . We started in the city, went through the countryside. Stopped and met one out of the four wooden clog makers in the Netherland. Also his cheese making skills was also part of the tour. The Windmill was a great photo shoot. It was a 4 hour tour so be ready to pack a snack and a large bottle of water. But the tour was very scenic and beautiful.
